What's the latest on these guys? We hear 3 guys are close to committing, but any time frame?

Featured Replies

Over on GoldHelment Svo seems to think that Johnson can be within the next 24 hrs.

I recieved an e-mail from IrishIllustrated, saying the Four Horsemen Lounge had information of us being in really good standing with three other top recruits? I am not a subscriber.

But I will go over to Svo's site...

Front page of II says ND picks up commitment No. 17? I'm sure thats the Ethan Johnson committment. But now there are so many sources saying 3 more supposed commits after Slaughters commitment that I'm sure there true and now these kids and there families want to announced it officially on there terms. I'm sure by end of the weekend this commits will be public.

Rico Chet, I like that name by the way! I agree, I think by the end of the week (i.e. within the next 48 hrs) we'll hear about those that have committed.

Ethan Johnson's in. #17. I hope McCarthy's #18 and Floyd's #19. Then Jeremy Brown can come in and be #20.

Anyone else feel we need another offensive lineman?

Two more WR- Floyd and Baldwin will do :)

One More LB- Hale or Sabino

One more DB- Bryant or Danny Mac

One more OL- hmmm Ill say Patchan

One RB- Carlton Thomas

And if he wants to lets let Forston roll aboard as well- He is a stud and we should make room...

These are my preffered picks, any corrections or additions?

How do we stand...really with these guys? I feel good about Floyd and Baldwin, but after that???

Yeah, 1 more, those OL recruits that became DL recruits this spring in theory atleast will be back to the OL including Stewart. I think Weis & Co. will hold a scholy for Matt Patchan and/or maybe Kenneth Page.

Gotta love the balance between the offense and defense. Two years at the most...we will be a for sure be a force to be reckoned with. :winking:

For sure Dreamer. If recruitment doesn't die down in the upcoming years, we will be an elite team in no time.

With all the DL commits then Nuss, Nwankwo and Stewart might all go back to the OL next year. That would give us PLENTY of depth at the OL spot with the Master 06 class, 07 class and the 08 with Cave, Golic, and Clelland. So we could probably hold out for a guy like Patchan or something. ND's philososhy right now is first come first served basically. Yeah we'll take an RB commit this year if you want to commit right now, but if an extra WR comes and says yes then you're outta luck because every recruit gets notified of every commitment it's CB's policy. Apparently from what I've been told was that the ND staff was higher on Omar Hunter than that of Forston so I don't see them holding a 6th<<crazy, spot for him. I talked to my friend who works on the "U's" football team last night and somehow Forston came up because he was talkin about Coach Shannon<<< (Real good guy, he gave me some personal stories and the guy is hard not to root for he'll turn it around...and this is coming from a IK....I HATE MIAMI.) We are in the running for Floyd who is our #1 target overall with Baldwin and Butler at WR. McCarthy as a saftey and Jeremy Brown who I think will commit on his visit in July as an "athlete" that can play CB or WR. We NEED another OLB and Sabino is our biggest priority left on the defensive side of the ball. We snag about 6 MAYBE 7 more of these guy and it'll be the best recruiting season of ND since they've been tracking recruiting.

Well said IK, I don't think we have a dire need for an OL in this class, but if a guy like Patchman wants to commit, I can't see turning him away. I personally feel the same about RB, but I still think we'll take one.

I like it...nice prespective, thanks.

Rivals is stateing the Floyd and McCarthy will follow soon after Slaughter and Johnsons commited to CW.Maybe someone can give mor info on that article or maybe a little insight.

I'm hearing Floyd is very close...not sure on McCarthy.

I think its Rick O'shay.

If we could get M. Floyd that would be HUGE because we would already have 2 WR and it might make B. Butler and J. Baldwins decision come quicker.

we only have one WR commit right now and the word going around is that floyd will be our next commit sometime soon and butler will be deciding sometime in july i believe. getting baldwin would just be icing on the cake.

If all 4 (Goodman, Floyd, Baldwin, Butler) want to come <<which is always unlikely to get every WR you offer, that would be welcomed by me. One more big play WR and worry about it next year...I think everybody can agree with me on this...
