Since the other threads are still buzzing based on rumors, I figured I'd try this one on for size as a "Slaughter related only" thread.

But also something thats interesting is the location of these recruits... It seems like they are going to be groups from Cali, Penn, Florida, GA, And I hear only new offer we may see is Jamal Womble thats it... So that can tell you what type of position we are in...

 

Its great we will start the season and officials for five star non committed guys... If this keeps up we could end up with a ton of talent...

 

Also hearing that recruits are taking notice and CB's phone has been blowing up from recruits around the country buzzing over the news this week... Samardzija was a friend of mine in high school and he has told me that they have put their recruiting plan in place and not having to replace with plan b guys. And CW along with CB let every board recruit informed... So everyone knows whats going on even more than us...

I think not. They definitely like Kapron Lewis-Moore, and there is a small chance that with his size they could end up playing him at OLB, but if this Johnson thing comes to fruition, we're pretty much filled to the brim on DL. I think they'll continue recruiting Forston as a "wait and see" guy, since injuries and transfers are a possibility, but even he would most likely upset the apple cart if he hopped on board (sounds crazy, right?).

 

We've got 16, so the wiggle room we had before is pretty much gone. We're talking 6-7 more scholarships available, with possibilities of bringing in guys at WR, RB, OL, DL, LB, and DB still - and we're almost undoubtedly bringing in more than one WR. Something would have to give, so we're really starting to look at a #'s crunch. I don't know how it would exactly shape up, but I think Charlie will stick to his target # of 5, for reasons we're starting to see much more realistically.

 

No matter how the remaining scholarships are dished out, what a nice problem to have!

While that comment is a little cryptic (sounds like it is worded out of excitement), the jist of it is clear: ND is recruiting with a vengeance, and everyone is starting to take notice. Lovin' it TAA!

Listening to the radio show. O'Leary said rumors were that we picked up 4 commits today???

 

My guess is it was from the 3 rumors when we didnt know who committed 2 nights ago Slaughter or McCarthy (now know Slaughter committed), then the new rumors about Shayne Hale & Ethan Johnson.

 

Those would be the 4 players I was thinking of. If we ended up with all 4 this weekend, that'd be amazing. I know they said Hale wont come out for awhile.

Great point on Slaughter/Butler AA. I forgot about their friendship. That could be huge.

 

As for KLM, I think we will still recruit him but I doubt we will give it much effort.

really. if ND lands johnson that gives ND two DEs in this class in johnson and cywner, wouldn't the staff want to bring in one more DE?

IMO, that would be 2 1/2 DE's because Hafis Williams could also play DE in certain packages. Hunter and Newman will on be on the interior.
