ALL DDers within a 60 mile radius of South Bend better have your asses lining the Toll Road with pom poms and holding "EJ and ND: Perfect Together" signs..lets go, now! get off your asses and help the cause!...get the hottest girls you can find (bus em in from Chicago if you have to!-but no Southsiders!) and make sure they are on campus the entire weekend...lets land this kid and lock him up!

Amen SD. I feel really good about two of those guys (Slaughter and Floyd), but its too early to call it for any of the other prospects. If we got all those guys... man we'd have a deep class.

Michigan fans are getting fed positive info from their mods at Scout & Rivals about Ethan Johnson. He was at Michigan attending camps this week. What concerns me is that he spent several days at Michigan and they (Michigan people) are reporting that he is only going to spend 1 day at ND, then he is taking a vacation in Windsor, Ontario (I've been to Windsor, and wouldn't want to spend a vacation there but I think he has family there). Anyway on his way back from South Bend while en route to Windsor his is supposed to be stopping in to see Michigan again.............this is all info coming from Michigan mods etc. so some I hope its not accurate. They aren't saying he's going to commit there or anything but they are saying that Michigan is definitely in the race. They're conclusion is that if Johnson leaves the West Coast, he ends up at Michigan and not Notre Dame......I don't like it and I hope he is spending more than 1 day at ND.

On the hating USC front, new rivals video of their camp shows DJ Shoemate, and he looks like garbage...gonna be tough for him to keep that 5 star ranking unless he gets better from the injury in a hurry.

This just happens to be coincidence that they are a rival, but I'm honestly the most leery about anything I hear from a Michigan site. The articles from scout half the time look like they were written with a crayon (Darius Fleming was from California, don't ya know? ), and they have a habit of building up UM interest to a higher point than it actually is, with guys like Fleming, Kapron Lewis-Moore, Robert Blanton, etc.

 

Maybe they are right, but particularly when the kid is known for not being terribly talkative (doesn't have a cell phone, if thats any indicator), I'm a little leery, especially when he hasn't gone to ND's camp yet - all we need to point at is Omar Hunter to ask whether one visit can change things around. Who knows though - I'd love to get him, but with 4 in the bag he's not a "need" get. We'll take anyone thats got an offer.

 

As for Shoemate, I didn't want to be the first to say it and sound like a blind hater, but I couldn't agree more. They tried to spin it by saying he's got "potential" from what they saw, but you don't pick guys to be 5 stars just on the basis of "potential". To me, he looked more like a linebacker or a safety trying to play wideout. The guy looks built, but the package just simply wasn't there. What little I saw looked a lot like the reports I heard about DJ Hord being rusty and looking out of sorts post-injury.

The fact is he extended his stay at Michigan 1 or 2 more days then he originally planned, which has resulted in a shortened stay at ND......not the end of the world but not a good thing either.

hearing E Johnson was REALLY impressed with ND on his visit.
