I see Scout is re-evaluating alot of their prospects with one glaring change in Fauria who is now a 3 star? hmm they also changed Jeremy Brown to a 1 star because they are re-evaluating him from scratch probably. They have Newman as the 6th ranked DT in the country? They have Rudolph as the best TE in country (it's about time). Cwynar is the 8th ranked DT and Clelland is the 7th ranked guard. Floyd is the 4th best WR....Slaughter is a 3 star? comical. Poz. is a 1 being re-evaluating all together. Goodman moved up a little. They now have Hale as a DE...Blanton as the 8th ranked CB. Golic is being re-evaluated and wouldn't be suprised if they gave him a 2* out of nowhere to stick it to ND. Hafis is the 19th ranked DT and 3 star and Omar is the 20th ranked DT and a 3 star(I've heard because they still don't have enough game film on him, but he'd be a 4*.) They have McDonald at 7 for MLB and Sweat ahead of him which I don't agree with but he still is high. McCarthy is 9th ranked saftey with 4 stars. And they just took us off as a school of interest for Sabino. I guess they let a USC fan do these re-rankings. Chime in on what you think of what they're doing...

Wow, the moved Rudolph all the way down to #40 from #25, that's a pretty dramatic drop off.

Butler is now #36, he wasn't even on the original list!

Baldwin checks in at #75 after not being on the initial list either.

Fleming fell from #49 to #88

Cwynar is no longer on the list.

They shook it up quite a bit.

Scout is the worst of all the pay sites.

Honestly, I think the Fauria ranking is right about where it should be. He's a high three, low four prospect until further notice IMO. Not to knock the guy, but while he already has the frame and size to be a college level TE, his game doesn't scream to me, "dynamic!". He's got to show a little more "wow" on his game film to earn four stars, if you ask me. But thats just my take on these so called "star rankings", rather than the guy himself. Star rankings need a LARGE grain of salt to go with them; lots of four star guys watch their careers fizzle if they pick the wrong school, while the 3 star guy that looked like an afterthought can blow up in the right place (i.e. Samardzija).

The Hunter thing irritates me, but at this point it doesn't in an odd way. I know he could be a wrecking ball in this defense, and has megaloads of potential, so I really don't mind as much not having some recruiting service rating validate this kid. Boatloads of offers, physical attributes that make you do a double take, all the while being a perfect 3-4 fit... let 'em rank him at 3 stars, see if I care.

Sorta surprised to see Fleming where he was. Darius Fleming below Everette Thompson? USC's staff didn't seem to think that way... but whatever, the recruiting services are never going to look at the Midwest as a richer talent base than California and fellow West Coast states.

And I agree IK - they don't have a very good bead on Sabino. They had North Carolina as "High" on his list, only to promptly knock 'em back down. Yet they couldn't bother to change Brandon Newman from "High" on Kentucky over a 2+ month span... riiiight... As soon as he does an interview with the Georgia schools, TADA! They bump the Irish off Sabino's list pronto, even though Sabino has made it no secret that the Irish are going after him the hardest. Even if Sabino ends up elsewhere than South Bend: whatever you say scout, whatever you say...

Final chime ins:

- Newman's might be generous based on their criteria, though in a way it makes up for Hunter.

- Slaughter as a 3 star... what, another "we don't have enough film on him"? Did they stop collecting film on Georgia kids after A.J. Green and DeAngelo Tyson?

- Glad to see Goodman as a 4 star. Better enjoy it while it lasts... they're bound to knock him down a peg after a senior year at QB.

I think the most stunning thing that I saw as I looked over the list again:

Is it possible that there are only 3 CBs in the top 100 football players in the entire country???

3 5 star CBs in the top 100, and not another one on the rest of the list!!!!

Considering the skill and talent it takes to play that position, I find this shocking.

ND still has 5 players in the top 100 which quite honestly is very surprising with legit chances at 3 more of their 5 stars (E Johnson, Filer, and Floyd) and outside chances at Butler, Hale, Brown, and Forston.

I know Scout sucks and their ratings are BS, but for lack of anything better to discuss here is a list of Scout's 5 Stars we are still in running with (with varying degrees of chances for success obviously):

Patchan

Floyd

Filer

Brown

Hill

Hale

Forston

Ethan Johnson

Filer

Butler

Agheyere

If we can keep all our verbals, and get Floyd and 1 or 2 more fron this list i'm ecstatic.

But Gotta get Floyd.

He is the key.

Gotta get him to ND....

Gotta happen.

It's good to see E. Johnson getting his 5th star and now they have him as a DE. He is my biggest target left on the Defensive side of the ball IMO. Floyd is our biggest need overall and definently leading for him (Which he has said.)

I am a bit surprised by Fauria's rankings. I went back and took a look at him and he has really good body control for a guy his size. He goes up well and catches everything with his hands, and if he is not dynamic enough at TE he can be a AA at OL because of his athleticism on his already huge frame. IMO he doesn't need to be the dynamic stretch the field kid they have that with Rudolph and Ragone, he is the glorified blocker with great hands who you can post up on smaller defenders to pick up huge First Downs.

I liked Faurias film, it's not like Rudolphs film was schooling Faurias...we'd need to watch a full game. Look at Faurias offer list, pretty impressive. The thing that gets me with Scout is if you accually look closely, they are terrible at ranking people. They have Poz. as the 27th best WLB...understandable because he was hurt all last year, but then I go up the list and see a guy committed to Temple (who was his only offer) is above him by more then a few spots. Come on Temple? Poz. had offers from good schools....I put alot more stock into Rivals rankings then Scout. E.J. Manuel goes from a 3* nothing on Scout, then Rivals releases theirs as E.J. the #1 pro-style QB and then Scout comes out a week or so later with him as their #2 best QB overall behind Pryor and a 5*.

Scout....great for game clips on the players, I don't pay any attention to thier rankings. I'm still a subscriber because of the videos; but the rankings always drove me crazy. I finally just stopped caring how many stars they put up; I would say Rivals is more accurate with the rankings. Although Scout at least ranks better than ESPN does

----You can watch the videos on Rivals for free...so the Scout videos must be alot better ey?

If you are someone who loves to see where they are ranked, then go for rivals. If you like to watch film and formulate your own opinion, go for scout.

Damnit, why doesn't Scout just do what Rivals does and make us sit through a 40 second advertisment?

Where did u see that jeremy brown was lowered to a 1 star?

if we end up getting Floyd, im going to scream like a little girl...........

.....i really wish i didnt post this.

The scout guys love their rankings because it gives them relevance. We are discussing them!
