Posted June 10, 200718 yr Looks like it's official: Frazer, odd man out in QB race, to transfer from Notre Dame
June 10, 200718 yr I'm sorry it all had to end this way for the gentleman. I wish him well. I don't think Rutgers is a problem. He'd be taking the Weis play book with him but we would be playing Rutgers after he graduates. Be an odd scenario if ND had to face him on the field. Interesting about Louisville, I didn't see that one coming. I thought more Tenn because of Coach Cut. Teamyouloveto hate will love the Miami mention.
June 10, 200718 yr I wish him well and I hope we don't have to play him on the field someday the ND coaches wont let him transfer to a school we're going to play during his tenure at that school. So I.E, no PSU, no BC, etc.
June 10, 200718 yr Louisville seemed like an odd choice for me. I know they wanted him bad before he went to ND, but they have some pretty decent QB's lined up for the next few years. He would be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. In this case the frying pan is worse though. The only recruit UofL has for next year (so far) is a QB also, plus a projected 1st rounder next year in Hunter Cantwell, then Matt Simms (son of Phil) lined up after that. I just can't imagine he and his dad won't see that freight train coming, after what they have been through.
June 10, 200718 yr I guess it makes sense!!!! If you don't have a chance, just transfer! Good luck at East Carolina.
June 10, 200718 yr Note in this SBT article Zach must decide by June 28 when Summer school starts. He has one week. Also the incoming 15 freshmen will be coming in that day. http://www.southbendtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070610/NDSports02/70610037
June 10, 200718 yr Boy, does David Frazer sure like to voice his opinion on his son's future! I don't believe a word of it, he also said his son "wants to be at ND"

Matt Simms isnt as good as his brother Chris, but he's a decent qb. Id like to see Frazer go to ND for obvious reasons. I wish him all the luck in the world and hope it's a smooth transition for him.
June 10, 200718 yr Boy, does David Frazer sure like to voice his opinion on his son's future! I don't believe a word of it, he also said his son "wants to be at ND" tdnd, Mr. Frazer really does like to voice his opinions on Zach, but Zach DOES want to be at ND. But like Mr. F said, he loves to play MORE then he loves the school. doesnt mean Zach doesnt like ND at all
June 10, 200718 yr I have to agree now Ziggy. I was checking the U of L site, nice QBS already in and, Sunseri committed for the 2008 QB, He used to live in Louisville has many connections here and his Dad played for U of L. And this place is a good ole boy school. With Brian Brohm graduating VERY High. I don't think his brother Jeff Brohm will stick around long (move up the coaching ladder) Jeff is the Asst Head Coach and QB passing game CO I'd scratch U of L off that list if he transfers.
June 10, 200718 yr i agree...i dont think U of L, but they were mentioned, but I'd def hope Rutgers has a shot. Mike Teel will be a RS Senior Zach's first year of eligibility and Zach will still be a Frosh if im correct? If Zach's good enough, he might be able to take Teel's job, but if not, then he'll have 3 years to play for the Scarlet Knights.

Actually, Hunter Cantwell is Brohm's backup, and will start next year. HE is also predicted to be a 1st round pick in the draft. That's who I was referring to. Brohm obviously is this year as well.
June 11, 200718 yr just wondering, how someone is predicted to be a first round draft pick if he's not coming out for 2 years?
June 11, 200718 yr just out of curiousity, why would our coaches have any say on where he can and can't go? i mean sure, i would rather NOT play him in the future, but why can the coach from the school he is LEAVING decide he can't attend certain school. Didn't he get to decide where he wanted to go in the first place? he can't do that again? again, i'm just not sure how it all works.
June 11, 200718 yr Ziggy, because several analyst are projecting to the 2009 years draft, the same way they did a few years ago with Brady, and Brohm as well. They are certainly speculating, but isn't everything a speculation. Having seen him play, and hating his team for the record, he is probably the best backup out there right now. He's big, accurate and very tough, finishing his first bowl game (with Brohm out) with a broken nose and blood pouring off his face. He played most of the game that way. He is just way under the radar because the #1 QB in CFB (to most) is in front of him. Now, I seriously need to quit defending players on the one team I dislike the most.
June 11, 200718 yr Indy, Transfer rules are pretty much that Weis can "not release" him for a year, if he wanted to play at say USC or Navy because he would be taking the playbook to a team we are slotted to play. Which would mean it would be 2 years (one to be released by Weis)and one other for the NCAA regulations that say he must sit out a year if he goes to another D1 school. Basically look for Frazer to go where we wont play. Good luck Zach- sorry you couldnt make it in man. Wish you the best in whatever you do.
