June 5, 200717 yr McDonald is a 250 lock and got robbed of top 100. Are ALL OF THE RATINGS coming out tomorrow? Everybody is getting stars? or just the top 250?
June 5, 200717 yr McDonald will be on the top 100 when its all said and done. Same with Fleming and maybe Hunter.
June 5, 200717 yr well this might be weird, but i read this article: http://www.uhnd.com/articles/2007/recruiting/omar-hunter-adds-to-notre-dame%e2%80%99s-d-line-haul/ "Rivals has Hunter ranked in their top 250 " dunno if that helps, or if I'm missing something and that was another list.
June 5, 200717 yr wheres newman???? or mcdonald????McDonald will be there, hell he should be in the Top 100. Kentucky has no one in the top 250 so Newman doesn't make it.
June 5, 200717 yr McDonald will be on the top 100 when its all said and done. Same with Fleming and maybe Hunter. Very well said. I agree on all counts. Especially Fleming, he got robbed.
June 5, 200717 yr Its too early to feel like we've been jipped by the rankings IMO. First of all, lets notice the trend that pretty much all of the names mentioned we feel may have been "short changed" are on defense. McDonald, Newman, Hunter, Fleming. I mean Goodman got 4 stars by scout, and the only offensive recruit I've heard as underrated is Cave. We know that most of these evaluators look at these prospects with the preconceived notion that they're evaluating these kids on a 4-3 criteria. Not necessarily their fault, since most schools run that kind of D, but its going to effect our defensive recruit rankings, particularly at OLB, NT, and DE. So long as we know that they fit our scheme, there is little to worry about because of this. I even think Charlie forecast this very notion, and that we'd be going after lesser known prospects for our defense (EX: Newman, who didn't get much attention from non-regional football powers). Secondarily, its still really early. Sometimes kids "blow up" during their senior years. These rankings are still pretty fluid, particularly as the lists get longer. So for me, I'm not bothered if Fleming gets left off such and such a list, or if Newman isn't mentioned as a top 250 player. For the scheme we operate, I am more than confident that they'll be impact players. More importantly, if these kids are the first or second tier of offers sent out for a certain position, I'm more than happy when they come on board.
June 5, 200717 yr keep adding to a top 10 class. Defending on how many commits we get, we could def be top 5
June 5, 200717 yr McDonald will be on the top 100 when its all said and done. Same with Fleming and maybe Hunter. i would agree with mcdonald and fleming but i think hunter will probbly be no higher then top 250. it surprises me a little with hafis williams considering he was a rivals 2nd team all-american as a junior.

June 5, 200717 yr 8 of the 14 Irish verbals were listed in this 1st edition of the top 250. Clelland, Crist, Fleming, Fauria, Rudolph, Cwynar, Goodman, and McDonald all made it. Perhaps most surprising to me was the omission of Omar Hunter. Notable Irish prospects yet to commit anywhere that weren't included are Carlton Thomas, Kapron Lewis-Moore, Jeremy Brown, and the previously balleyhooed Masengo Kabongo (guess scout saw something very different in him). Virtually every other name mentioned in ND recruiting circles made the top 250. 3 of ND's 4 defensive lineman aren't listed in the first batch of rankings. I guess Charlie was right, that ND's defensive recruiting would target some different players, that not everyone would love, or rank as high.
June 5, 200717 yr long way to go before these rankings are final. Case in point, my mancrush Carlton Thomas isn't even on there yet. No one can watch his film against Florida competition and say he's a 3 star.
June 6, 200717 yr I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Goodman making the Rivals 250 list. It was great to see him get some recognition. They also listed him having a 10.8 100 meter dash, which is very impressive. If I remember correctly, he also picked ND over Michigan. If the coaches offered him so early, they had to see something they liked. I think he'll be pretty good once on campus.
June 6, 200717 yr what a great start, granted people can rise and fall but alot of our guys are getting mad props early. 8 guys this early with the very real possibility of getting additional commits like Filer, Floyd, and others is fantastic. We are in amazing shape.
June 6, 200717 yr I just noticed that Masengo Kabongo was ranked higher than Cwynar and Hunter. I wasn't really that impressed with Kabongo. He looks good but I think Hunter and Cwynar's films were more impressive.
