June 4, 200717 yr Good job as usual Nick. Is there any chance you could somehow get Floyd lined up for an interview?
June 4, 200717 yr big fan of Ragone. Everyone seems enamored with our latest TE recruits b/c they are huge and can be blocking/red zone threats. Well I can't wait to get Ragone's speed on the field and lined up against an overmatched LB or safety. This kid has mad wheels and would be even more hyped if not for his injury last year. Welcome aboard Mike.

Welcome aboard Mike. agreed. add in reuland, the #1 TE prospect in his class and rudolph, the #1 TE prospect in his class ( and a guy who's film REALLY impressed me ) we have, almost without question, the best TE depth in the country. and i didn't even mention yeatman and fauria!! TE U, anyone?
June 4, 200717 yr I think its on it's way. We can't claim "TE U" just yet, considering Miami has produced Shockey, Winslow Jr, and Greg Olsen (who was an ND recruit, ironically enough), all 1st round picks. You kind of have to show real results, rather than recruiting battles first. But ND's cupboard looks thoroughly stocked, and could quickly overtake their throne at that position.

TE's in his first 3 years. pretty impressive. and sure the others mentioned haven't done it on the field much *yet* but when you have 4 VERY highly rated TE prospects, it seems logical to expect at least one of them will be a star. so, if that happens, we've matched the "U" in TE's, right?

I probably should have mentioned pro bowl honors as a criteria, you're right. But I think we could pretty quickly match Miami. Fasano, Carlson, and the next crop waiting in the wings... it could happen, pretty easily.

Fasano wasn't 1st round
June 4, 200717 yr Fasano wasn't 1st round Fully aware. 2nd round to the Cowboys. Comparisons to Mark Bavaro with the Bill Parcells connect, I know. Just mentioning a Notre Dame TE that has made it to the NFL, and that at least one team thought well of him enough to pick him with a high draft pick. Starting to get off topic. Ragone certainly isn't lacking vision or goals. Its nice to have some guys that have bold ideas and predictions about the course of ND football - and Ragone seems to fit the bill.
June 5, 200717 yr and assuming ragone recovers fully, his speed will really be quite extraordinary for his position. in fact, the reason olsen went so high this year was in no small part due to his 40 time at the combine. and as i've already said, i am very intrigued by rudolph's athleticism...

Although he will have to fill out his frame as he's about 230 I think right now.
June 5, 200717 yr Nick: great job as always...Mr Access!! you never cease to amaze all of us how you get these interviews but keep it coming! i think ragone is the sleeper of 2007 recruiting class myself i have elaborated on it on other posts. suggestion: you should ask more questions of these guys, (not just 6 or 7.)
June 5, 200717 yr Nick suggestion. Like you did with Brandon Walker, you should let us know WHEN you're going to interview them so each of us can give you the questions we want asked. So, there would be more questions and questions from the other posters.
June 5, 200717 yr suggestion: you should ask more questions of these guys, (not just 6 or 7.) i wouldve, but i got this on IM last night around 9ish i think and he asked me to make it quick...so i made the q;s on the spot and only fit in 6
