Posted May 29, 200717 yr Here is my top 5 (somewhat realistic) for WR.... I really want to land one of these guys SOON 1. Julio Jones 2. Mike Floyd 3. Brice Butler 4. Jonathan Baldwin 5. Gerell Robinson I left Deion Walker off my list because I have no idea if we have offered or if he has any interest in us at all..
May 29, 200717 yr 1. Mike Floyd 2. Brice Butler 3. Johnathan Baldwin 4. Gerrell Robinson 5. Montavious Odoms I left Walker off because I dont think we offered him, and I dont think Julio Jones has much interest in us. I think Walker ends up at USC and Julio Jones to LSU.
May 29, 200717 yr I'm with you Irish21. I like your list in that order (although I'd put Butler and Baldwin in a tie at #2). To be honest though, I wouldn't mind any 2 guys from that list. As much as I like Walker, w/o and offer, we can't really consider him.
May 29, 200717 yr 1. Michael Floyd 2. Brice Butler 3. Jonathan Baldwin 4. Wes Kemp 5. Kenny Tate I know, you're probably wondering about the last two, but I really like both of them, especially Kemp. They both have prototypical size and speed for a wide out.

May 29, 200717 yr Tate has been offered, but Wes Kemp has not. For some reason, I completely forgot about Kenny Tate. Maybe I dont want to remember any more wide receivers from DC.
May 29, 200717 yr I think getting Goodman killed any chance of ND getting Wes Kemp. ND is looking fir #1 type WR's the playmakers that open it up for everybody else and from what I know is that Kemp is more of a really stong and powerful possession WR and ND got alot of those over the last 2 seasons. So unless there are WR transfers I don't see ND getting or reall going after Wes Kemp.
May 29, 200717 yr Tate does seem like the forgotten man and not just here, there isn't much hype around him at this time.
May 30, 200717 yr 1. Mike Floyd 2. Brice Butler 3. Morgan Carter 4. Jonathan Baldwin 5. Gerell Robinson 6. Montavious Odoms 7. Wes Kemp 8. Kenny Tate
May 30, 200717 yr i think our interested in Carter will show up more once the season starts. Couldnt leave Tate and Odoms off the list because they were both offered. Id like to see us get a WR commit soon.
May 30, 200717 yr I'm pretty sure Kenny Tate doesn't have an offer. Odoms has stated he might wait until NSD and really isn't even paying attention to the recruiting process at the moment so I don't think we'll have a spot for him at that time. Wes Kemp is a good player, but we'd have to miss out on a couple of guys maybe even a few for him to get an offer so I think he's out. Morgan Carter is in the same boat as Kemp. Floyd will always be our #1 choice and target. Watch his film and tell me he's not elite, he has favored us from the beginning and happens to attended the biggest ND pipeline the world has ever seen. We've had like 6 or 7 players come out of there in the last 6 years. Next, comes Brice Butler which I think it'll come down to USC and ND with USC winning that battle. He seems enamared with everything that is SC. Baldwin recently it has come out that he is now favoring ND and Pitt with Pitt being the leader, but who knows if that is 100% true. After that it's a bunch of none interested players like Julio Jones and such. I think we HAVE to land Floyd and if we don't then WR recruiting is going to start to be like DL recruiting in the last few years. I mean COME ON we have Jimmy Clausen and we are the most pass happy offense there is. What is wrong with you people?(recruits)
May 30, 200717 yr I think it'll be between ND, Minnesota, and USC for Floyd, and we'll get him. Everything I hear says it is a ND/Minnesota battle. As for the WR list, here's mine: 1. Floyd 2. Butler 3. Baldwin Only 3. I want 2 of those 3. I honestly would be disappointed if we did not land 2 of them. We need to start landing the STUD Wr's. With JC on campus, it's time to land those guys.
May 30, 200717 yr 1. Floyd 2. Baldwin 3. Robinson 4. Butler If we could land any combo of these 2, that would be unreal.

May 30, 200717 yr 1. Baldwin 2. Floyd 3. Butler 4. Robinson Floyd is clearly our best shot and i'm surprised to hear its a Minny/ND battle with how he's talked about Florida in the past. It'll be hard for it to be a ND/Florida/USC battle considering he doesnt have a USC offer. Butler seems to be headed to USC, but i think Baldwin will fit the best in our system so hopefully we can lure him away from Wanny.
May 30, 200717 yr I could see Butler at ND because he wants to be in and out of college.... he could show up at ND and (if he is as good as he thinks he is) play immediately. Junior year play with JC then go pro Although it makes sense... something in the back of my mind keeps telling me he won't be Irish I will be surprised if we don't get Floyd If it's down to just ND and Pitt for Baldwin then thats good too, I think we can lure him away Anyone know anything about Julio Jones?
