You could read your crystal ball a number of ways, now that Newman has landed with the Irish. Is it the hard to read Andrew Sweat, the leaning but tight lipped (at least himself) Robert Blanton? The seemingly wooed Garret Goebel? Or a wild card; the recently impressed Art Forst? Feel free to chime in.

I'm going with the wild card in WR Brice Butler...just joking.

I say Blanton.

If you went with other, could ya please share with the class? :D

Wasn't me, I went with Sweat. I know the odds are slim, but I like what Weis and Brown are doing with this class and the players they are choosing. They put the full court press on Sweat, so much that he hasn't committed to OSU yet, like most have predicted. If this drags on, IMO it will benefit us and he may just be Irish !!!!

I think Sweat is our next commit, and then we get Blanton.

I'm thinking Goebel. I think he beats Blanton to the punch sometime mid-late June.

Maybe for self preservation purposes, but I think Sweat's ship has sailed... stranger things have happened, but Rockne is pretty good at calling 'em right.

Think its Blanton..outside chance of Omar Hunter, who I think visits this week and then decides, could possibly come our way out of the blue

FWIW, irish illustrated has poster reporting Sweat, as of today, is down to USC and Fla....I asked for a link and more info, nothing yet but just passing on what I saw from a somewhat regular poster..

IrishCrazy you mean Beal. I agree with thinking Blanton will be the next commit. Omar Hunter is visiting ND and UM this week and then will decide, but he was considered a UM lock from the beginning so I think he ends up there, hopefully not though. I would love for Goebel to come here as well, but as of right now it's a 3 man race(OSU, UM, ND) and no clear leader. Sweat I expect to commit to OSU by next week.

I think that poster meant to say Brendan Beal.

It sounds like Blanton is pretty much already in the bag, so I'll take a shot at who I think goes public after him. IMO, I think it will be McCarthy. I don't think Goebel is the slam dunk that many believe he is and if anything, if he does end up picking ND, it will probably be later down the road.

Shark maybe not that much later, he is visiting tomorrow the same day as Omar Hunter. They probably let both of them know that the heat is on and spots are now limited. If Goebel or Hunter want to come to ND it will probably be sooner rather than later.

I think Goebel has stated he wants to take some visits over the summer, so the staff will have to be patient.

As for Hunter, he's swinging by ND and then heading up to Michigan, and then he'll make his decision. He's been on Michigan since day 1 and I'd be absolutely shocked if he doesn't end up in Ann Arbor.

i voted for Blanton, but if Sweat does pick us then he'll be the next commit since he's picking the first week of june

Shark, I agree. I think he comes to ND for his visit followed by a trip to Ann Arbor to announce for the blue and maze. That's too bad because his videos look phenomenal.

Sweats baseball season ends today or tomorrow so we shouldnt have to wait much longer.
