May 11, 200717 yr Not to mention, last year Schiano turned down Miami. What, was he waiting for Lloyd Carr to retire? How 'bout "the poodle"? Or maybe he thought all those chants for Mack Brown's firing a couple years back when the couldn't beat Oklahoma were going to come true. Point is, he had a gold-mine of an opportunity, where all he'd have to do is blink at 5 recruits in his backyard, and have a couple blue chippers. If he says no to "The U", then he really must be interested in 1 of 2 things; the NFL, or Rutgers, and I have to say it looks like the latter. Like Weis, he isn't leaving.
May 11, 200717 yr there were rumors that he's the heir to Paterno's throne at PSU, but like Knight said, he just had his house built across the campus, the school budget is cutting some sports to make football a priority. New Jersey is on the bandwagon, and if they have another successful season, there's no doubt that Schiano will get better and better at nabbing NJ's top recruits. Sales pitch to a NJ recruit...you get to chop some wood at home in your state with your parent's in the stands, and play for a team on the rise in a BCS conference. Not to mention, Schiano's a hell of a coach. I know they're getting a few transfers every year too. Kids that went away their frosh and/or soph years and are coming home to NJ.
