Rumor - Blanton's Dad doesn't like idea of long drive to ND.

 

Rumor - Sabino final 3 are ND, NC and FSU.

I know they've been going pretty hard after Sabino... Blanton rumors are nothing too new, so no real surprise there... Hare? Is that some recruiting analyst I just don't know about, or is that supposed to be Shayne Hale? *Shrugs*

 

It would be something if Filer doesn't have a spot with the Irish, after all the chatter of him "silently verballing" to ND.

 

Lets say the Sabino rumors become something, and he verbals. Do we sacrifice an offer at, say, DL, or DB, and take in a 5th LB?

It would be Filers own fault for not showing any love back and missing his ride, im not waiting for him.

I think the staff would take 5, and I think they actually will. You need #'s at LB with our new scheme, I think we can all agree on that

 

I don't see how you can or would say no to a Sabino type player or a Filer. I know people can mention it would eat into next yr's schollies, but some kids you can't turn away. Filer and Sabino along with others would foot that bill.

steve hare is a writer for irish illustrated, not a prospect. Making Sabino's top three doesn't excite me. News that he planned a visit would be better.

 

I desperately want to land Blanton. He's a stud, ability to play safety and corner. I hope he or newman is our next commit. If we even get close to Blanton it's all Corwin Brown.

landing sabino and filer would be awsome but unless anything has changed i think UNC is probbly still the leader for sabino. i think sabino would fit at DE/OLB for ND then he would at OLB in a 4-3 like UNC, not to mention the versitility will go a long way come draft day.

The rumor was started by a poster on II who is perceived to be very reliable and in the know. I believe he is from the Ohio State site. He actually said that there is speculation that ND is in the lead for Sabino. Again, purely rumors.

Interesting... I'm slowly working my way out of the "We can't afford to take 5 Linebackers" bunker... not there yet, but getting there...

 

With this kind of Sabino chatter, a chance at Steve Filer, and the promise from Arthur Brown to at least make an unofficial visit? Things could get interesting in the near future...*does diabolical finger tapping*

 

Now I think we can start to imagine why Jonathan Meyers, and Jon Major, didn't receive offers...

That poster is legit, the dude has his contacts. Sabino wants to get out of Florida, we're in great shape here.

This might put more pressure on Filer to commit if he really wants to come here.

I could be wrong on the OSU part, it could have been FSU because he made a ton of Florida comments.
