Tomorrow is the last day of classes and the exodus of students will start

I am going to try not to count down the days this year. I pretty much wished away my whole summer last year.

Who does everyone think will have the biggest impact in our first game this year?

Zibby!

He is a ball hawk, and will pick up a loose fumble and take it to the house! Also JA will 200+ yds 3 tds

I'm going with Carlson.... 1st rounder next years draft

OOOOHHHHH SH**********!!!!!!

By August I won't be able to sleep, like a kid on Christmas eve.

My votes, which will be a little less mainstream, and not even include starters, are Morrice Richardson, who makes a great sack/fumble in a pass rushing situation to stop a Yellow Jacket drive cold, and Armando Allen, who takes the 2nd half kickoff to the house. I have that feeling that this season will see a bunch of different guys step in and contribute, rather than watching #10 heave it all day long, while everyone else watches, like last year.

Couldn't agree more IrishCalves....Teams win games. Armondo Allen is sick...he will make a huge impact.

Jimmy and Duval will start our season off right.

JC will throw 3tds and Duval will go for 100+ with 2td catches :-)

How much immediate playing time do you think Duval will see?

Hopefully a lot. I would love to see him step in and be able to play right away if he is physically able.

My impact player choice is T. Laws. Hopefully him or someone else on the D-line because if not we will get the ball run up our butt for the rest of the season.

My last day of finals is tomm, i dont know how im gunna get through the summer, i cannot wait for fball...i like John Carlson and I think Zibby is just going to be ridiculous this season, its hard to say if any of the freshmen will step up right away in the first game but well see

Zibby definitely does need to take charge and let the team know he is a leader on the defense from the first snap this year.... As a 5th year senior/leader of the defense he can help get the shakiness out of our young guys

Offense- Carlson

Defense- Laws

I don't think Duval would start right away. I believe I heard he was from a run-oriented offense in high school and needs some polishing, although he has some great potential.

I think Schwapp and Laws. No offense to Ashley McConnell, but we were hurting for Schwapp last year on offense. He should provide some good blocking in the back field, as well as an experienced third and short option who could bulldoze through opponents.

Welcome, Mikey G.

I tend to agree about missing that blocking FB. Not to mention, we're going to see the best of Schwapp and Schmidt. They're both competing for playing time, so we're going to see the best they can offer.

I expect to see our offense struggle massively against GTech. GTech's defensive scheme has got to be to stop the run first and make the new guy throw. I seriously expect them to blitz roughly 80% of the time. Last year, DW was our "go to guy" on most of the blitzes as he would catch a quick dump off from Quinn out of the backfield. Offensively, lets just hope that one of our new RB's can catch the football as well as DW did. I don't mean to rain on the upbeat parade, but I truly think that is going to be the reality of it. Being at home will help tremendously I think.

domeand,

i agree. GT will come at our guys like yellow jackets after their hive was disrupted. charlie will have to come up with a good scheme to save the qb.

defensively, i think the team will FINALLY play fast. remember, GT has a new QB also. Corwin will sick the dogs on him.

the first 4 games will be dependent on our D.

i am sick to my stomach to think it is 121 days 6 hours 6 minutes and 50 seconds to kickoff

Somebody is going to be able to be a backfield receiver, among AA, TT, JJ, JA, and even Robert Hughes (RH, haha).

And unlike years past, I think we can punish Georgia Tech if they blitz the wrong gaps on a run play. We've got guys now that can break it for big gains, so the risk goes up with run blitzes.

Plus, another issue about blitzing for Georgia Tech is that they'll have two new starting corners this fall, so that may be a tough assignment to put them on an island so soon and so often. Then again, our receiving corps is going through an overhaul too, so its eye for an eye.

But you are right to guess as much. They want whichever QB we throw at them game one to be completely gun shy by the 2nd half after they're done pressuring him.

Domer,

I'd like to see CW take a page out of Lou's book when it comes to attacking GT's def. I love the days of Lou when EVERYONE knew he was going to run it, and he still ran it and was successful. Its all attitude, and we need to dictate what we want, not be dictated to. Let them blitz every down, we need to man-up and run it at them anyway.

I know I may be dreaming, but man would I love to see it.
