I remember reading an article not too long ago about how JC's dad bought a house right next to campus for him to use. This makes me a little nervous. In college...that easily turns into a huge party and a house of ill repute. Now if JC was a junior I wouldn't be so concerned. But as a true freshman and under the scrutiny of everyone, the decision making ability might not be on par with the national expectations. I hope that CW made it very clear to him, and the rest of the team that hangs out there for that matter, that the goal is to have your off field life stay OUT of the headlines. I was driving down the street where that house is supposed to be yesterday and I didn't see a sign that said JC's House of Ass. So I guess that's a good sign.

Uh oh...am I not supposed to say ass on here? Dangit...I did it again.

i think it's alright as long as some1's making sure they're not partying all the time.

Partying at your parents house in college? Lame; I hope that wouldnt happen for more reasons than one.

i think that were making a lot to do about nothing, lets let the kid do his thing , if he gets in trouble so be it, I think he is smart enough to know that his future is in his own hands, , His folks have the necessary funds to buy a house at south bend then please let it be. there is enough crap on this site lately , so lets just drop all this crap. thats my opinion . go Irish :(

Jimmy's a good kid and wouldn't do that.

Jimmy's house of ass. LOL.

I had could never get my place to be called Soko's House of Ass, no matter how hard I tried

If he screws up, there's plenty of talent waiting in the wings to take his place. I'm not worried.

The thing is, he is not going to screw up.

The thing is, he is not going to screw up.

Yeah, I have no concerns about JC doing something so stupid. He will be fine.

It might still be JCs house of ass, but there will be no signs :-P

I'm glad you guys are confident. I just know that most 18 year olds away from home for the first time tend to get a little crazy. Some of the comments to this thread kind of shocked me to be honest with you. "He's a good kid, he won't do that". How do we know what kind of person he is? When we're recruiting these kids we all say that they are just 18 year olds and they are unpredictable...but magically when they show up at campus they are still 18 but now are completely predictable? And it's not just JC, it's the guys hanging out over there like AA etc.

I hope it's just me being paranoid, but ND kids are subject to all of these temptations too. Surely we all remember the rape case of 7-8 years ago. This is one of those conversations where I hope I'm wrong as hell. The whole point was that I just found it extremely naive for his dad to let him have free run at that house. When the cats away, the mice will play.

It would be great to party at the house that your parents own but are rarely ever there. Remember...the Clausen's didn't move to SB. The house is for them to stay at on game weekends and for Jimmy to use. If his parents lived there full time we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

Domer, the only reason that I'm not terrrible worried is the reason JC came to ND in the first place. To be honest, he made a business decision when he decided to come to ND, not that he would be playing for his favorite boyhood team. I think that JC has his eyes on the NFL and ND & CW was the best way for him to get there. I think that he is smart enough to understand that one stupid night/weekend at a house can ruin all that, so he will be careful.

Again, I hope you are right. I just don't have that kind of faith in 18 year boys. I, also get the feeling about JC that you have...but what about all the other players over there? Temptation is a very powerful thing...and alcohol will make you stupid in a heartbeat. I prove that frequently...just to keep testing the theory. Again, I'm squabbling over something that "Might" happen so this isn't of any real consequence right now. And I just hope it stays that way.

For what its worth, Clausen is 20 years old
