April 25, 200717 yr Boy you guys are sending me off to theOld I love lucy Theme bongos and what not puffy sleves
April 25, 200717 yr I don't quite see the comparison, other than a link to Africa. The two play different positions, and out of HS, Hali was about 245 lbs, quite a ways from Kabongo's 275. Plus Hali has a lot more quickness and speed.
April 25, 200717 yr sorry calves, i thought kabongo was a DE. my bad. hali and kabongo are about the same size now. although, you can't compare the size of a high school kid to that of a an NFL lineman. you have to admit that the african comparison was pretty good though.......
April 25, 200717 yr I'll give you that, the thought crossed my mind too. Both are from the east coast (Hali from Jersey, Kabongo from Connecticut), and both have fantastic names.
May 21, 200717 yr In the film room w/ Kabongo - http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/news?slug=rivals-125444&prov=rivals&type=story_recruiting
May 21, 200717 yr I love the quote from the editor: (Editor’s note: The opinions expressed in this analysis are those of IrishIllustrated.com senior editor Tim Prister and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Notre Dame coaching staff, nor the recruiting fraternity.) I've heard everything from "he's a must offer now", to a "this guy gets beat regularly; he isn't very good", so the editor's note was a good call. He sounds like a "potential" guy based on this review... IMO, with the offers we have now, Kabongo looks like a consolation prize if we miss on some of our current offers, and still have space for a DL target come December/January. He'll have to show improvement during this year to grab some attention.
May 21, 200717 yr sounds sort of a Taylor Dever type. We probably didn't even hear about Dever until the season, but you want to see a recruit explode during his senior year and that looks to be the case with Brandon Leslie and Kabongo.
