Hearing that Weis and Ianello are visiting him today, anyone know if true?

Featured Replies

yes it says it on 1 of the sites that the Coaching staff visited him. I'd really like to get this guy.

id like to see us nab this guy. has the ability to play offense and defense.

here is an article for him on Scout:

Good article, thank you. I like his profile, he is a natural at defensive tackle. Built to add a few more pounds for sure, and possibly without losing any rushing quickness for his position. Does anyone feel that we will offer him?

I would like to get alot of DL in this class so that Emeka Nwankwo, Nuss can play the positions that they were originally recruited to play instead of the DL. So I would like to see ND get Goebel. He's as highly thought of as Cwynar in alot of people's eye's.

The article stated he is awaiting his ACT results. This could be the reason for no offer yet. He hasn't fully qualified academically.

I agree thats most likely the case.
"I'll go wherever I feel is best. They are turning it around and coach Ron Zook is doing a great job.

Nah, there's no turnaround. They grabbed a couple outstanding players, but 2 young men won't carry a team like Ill. I honestly think that there's going to be some serious fallout in Ill. I'd hate to be a young player caught up in the middle of that when trying to focus on academics and football. [/b]

It's all perspective... It is probably harder to go 2-10 than 10-2. Especially with E. Ill., Syracuse, Indiana, Ohio, etc on your schedule. Since they only can go up there bound to "turn it around" and restore Illinois to a .500 program again.

ive said it before and ill say it again:

when the Zook rumors catch up to the facts, this guy is GONE.

U of I Admins are watching him like a hawk, very nervous about him...but he's under contract. in short, if he does anything to violate it, and they can prove it, im telling you he is GONE.

He is turning it around..... Go backwards is a direction :-P

i guess getting beat by 14 or more points in just 3 of their 10 losses is a good thing. maybe illini coaches are graded on moral victories..."ah well we didnt get beat that bad, and we're young, we'll get 'em next year!!"?? how many years can a university say that. i personally think they are playin better football n they're getting better players, but he's still the sad coach he was at FL, a terrible game-day coach who finds ways to lose games.

It's easy to trash his gameday results, but lets be honest: is Illinois a football school? Never has been, never will be. They had a miracle season getting to the Sugar Bowl in 2001-2002, where Saban's LSU Tigers promptly dumped them on their butts. You didn't see an outpouring of booster dollars for that program; they continue to funnel funds into their hoops, and the engineering program. The only thing that changed after they saw a little success on the gridiron was that they raised the bar, without giving much, if any, more support.

Based off the many visits I've had to the campus, to expect them to have a great football program, especially after only having a head coach at the helm for two years, is ridiculous. They can improve, but right now, with the recruiting class they just had, to pick on their 2-10 record is like pointing out the tallest midget.

And immediate apologies to any midgets that frequent DD.

He got his offer today, according to scout.

That was nice Irish Calves.

So when can we expect an Illinois practice session at Montini Catholic? After all, that practice at St. Rita sure helped Illinois stock with Fleming.

Here's to ND football owing the state of Illinois. :drunk:
