what about toyran smith last year? he's no stonebreaker but getting mcdonald is a must, he'll add much needed talent and depth at LB.

Yeah, you have to put Toryan into that mix. Not that he has proven anything yet, either has McDonald, but Toryan was a bigtime MLB recruit.

McDonald is in a different class, he has a brian ubelacher mentality and plays at a ray lewis pace. He is thwe real thing.

not doubting mcdonalds ability to play, but comparing him to gallipo is a tall order. gallipo was by far the best player (on both sides of the ball) at the AA game. unstoppable...........

thrilled to hear that. I absolutely love this kid. Looks like we're recruiting kids with pure defensive mentalities this year. Corwin Brown has been doing a great job off the field already.

while thinking about "what ifs" and "what could have beens"....im still pissed about what the Littles did to us on LOI day...also, no one talks about it here, and thinks were in "great shape" but i got to tell you i am definitely concerned about our WR situation short and long term - missing out on Benn and Little last year is going to hurt us big time i think...hope im wrong on this.

me too. losing benn and little really did hurt us. benn could've been someone who most likely would've landed a starting spot but instead ND is struggling to find a 2nd, 3rd and 4th WR. IMO losing those two set ND back one year at WR unless kamara and tate come in and set the world on fire (not sure that'll happen). landing floyd and one more big time WR will be very important this year.

Yea, I think its crucial that we get a good WR class this year. I did, however, finally see video of John Goodman. He'll be a solid possession receiver. I think he's lacking some speed to be a TD threat everytime he touches the ball. But, the comparisons to the shark are pretty good.

Yeah, we are a little thin at WR but I think with our strength at TE it will make life on all our receivers a little easier. I think that CW will get the best group of receivers on the field at the same time in different formations (like Rudolph in slot, red zone especially). We deffinetly need a couple of stud WR's this year though.

Comparing to Michael is saying alot. But I understand it's the position we are comparing...not the players. Either way. I love our new re-born attitude with the recruiting this year. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

lol, maybe a bit exaggerated but he's definitely going to be a good one.

 

Also, don't sell Toryan short. He had ofers from Florida, UGA, and Alabama...he wasn't ranked high but the kid SHOULD be a stud and an anchor for our defense in the future.
