Guest gallup21
Hey guys, just wanted to let you all know something. It's been obvious that I'm a Zach Frazer fan, no one can deny that. Actually though, I haven't talked to Zach since the UM ND game last fall...ive talked to his dad but not Zach directely. Well, tonight i was feeling bored so i thought id send Zach an email, telling him how i hope he remembers me and how my friends and family are all rooting for him...well i got a reply. hey nick, of course i remember you...i have just been busy the last couple days, its been a tough week with football and school. Thanks for all the suport i wont let you down. sorry had to make the last part bold
Guest irishrick
zach as far as iam concerned your the biggest of the QB, just take you time and be accurate with your throws and learn from your mistakes and above all its a team game do your part. go irish
Archer13
I don't care who ends up in the starting spot be it Frazer, Sharpley, Jones, or that new kid (I can never remember his name) 4 quality QBs so whoever Weis thinks is the best is ok with me. As long as they come to play and win games I will be 100% behind whoever is taking snaps! Of course I'm sure I'm not the only one with this particular frame of mind. Guest gallup21
guys, dont get me wrong, i want the best QB to start too. But you probably wont understand how tiring it is to say "Zach's transferring", "Zach has no realistic shot", etc when you know someone personally. And then hear all this crap about how Zach has no shot compared to the other three who last time i checked have yet to do a single thing, it seems pretty damn unfair to Zach
blarney_stank
I agree Gallup. I recall both Weis and Cutcliffe picked Frazer as their number one QB recruit in the country when they reviewed tapes a couple years back. I am honestly rooting for the guy because of all of the negativity towards his chances. I reallyl think he may surprise some people.
Guest NDisNCin2010
Frazer has as good a shot as anybody to be starting at QB in 2007. i wish him and the other 3 all the best. may the best QB win the job. Period. you never know what can (and will) happen over the next 4-5 years for all 4 of these guys. the RBs are in a similar situation but not geting as much hype (probabaly a good thing) i think it speaks volumes how they are all taking it in stride and seeing this an opportunity to EARN the starting job. (unlike others, ah hem, Mustain's mom, who when "little Mitchy" doesnt play, have a meeting with the coaching staff, leading to 2 coaching changes, 2 transfers and a media circus). imagine if that kid was here!... Charlie's gut and word was right on when he stuck with "his guys"-frazer and jones back in 2006. telling mustain to take a walk.

Guest gallup21
may the best QB win the job. Period. NDisNC, i know it would seem like that to a lot of people...but i think people are missing my point. Since Clausen committed, people have been saying JC, DD, but no mention of Zach, or Evan for that matter. Im just wondering what changed everyones mind from going JC and DD to "may the best win". NDisNC, im not calling you out, or anyone for that matter, im just saying not just on this board have i seen that but on tons of other boards...even in articles written by professional journalists
blarney_stank
NDinCin, you are overstating the Mitch Mustain mother thing. I live in Arkansas and can tell you that there is a lot more behind the scenes that caused that problem. It wasn't playing time for Mitch it was much more and it was caused by a coach who has no spine. Mustain is a good kid and didn't/doesn't deserve all of the abuse he has taken as a result of this situation.
PursuitAce
Gallup, it's human nature for people to try and figure things out. In this case, led by the sports pundits, they just extrapolate what would seem logical and make Clausen number 1 and DD number 2. (I think the reason for those 2 being 1/2 have been discussed so I won't go into that further.) The problem is most people on the outside looking in don't know enough about what's going on to make any valid judgements. They just THINK they have it figured out based on their own backround and experience. Let me tell a short story (I hope) to demonstrate the problem. I was coaching a Little League team in 1986. It's the city playoffs and we're up 8-1 after 5 1/3 innings. Our starting #1 pitcher gets a little tired and a little wild and I pull him for the #3 pitcher to get the last 2 outs. So I hear it from the #1 pitcher and a couple of moms as to "why did you do that". Weeeellll...as an athlete it's that last 10% of effort at the end that cuts the most into your recovery ability. 12 year old kids have notoriously great recovery abilities, but I wasn't taking any chances on fatigue or arm strain because I was looking 2 games ahead to the city finals and I wanted the kid primed for that game. Besides if you can't hold a 7 run lead in the 6th inning you deserve to lose. Fast forward to the finals. We are up 1-0 in the third inning when my #1 pitcher who has looked good so far starts walking batters. After several full counts and some pitches that should be strikes going down as balls, I call time and have a chat with the umpire. Turns out the league playoff committee decided the strike zone should be smaller for the championship game and the plate umpire was just obliging that decision. (It would have been nice if they had told me.) Anyway #1 walks 6, gives up some hits, and they score 6...and during the inning I can hear people say we should put another pitcher in. Later in the local newspaper I read that I had a "curious" strategy which "didn't help the situation". So what was my alternative? Put the #3 in, have him throw a slower fastball, to a smaller strike zone, and hope he shuts down the number 2 hitting team in 3 leagues. He would have given up 20 runs over the rest of the game and probably freaked out as well. (The #2 pitcher was not available due to playoff rules. He had already pitched 6 innings and beat the #1 seeded team 7-3 in the semis) We were facing the best pitcher in 3 leagues and we had hoped to play a close game and eke out a win at the end. So much for that strategy. The point is "everybody's a critic", but very few people have the facts. Now, magnify my little problems in those situations about a hundredfold (maybe a thousand) and you reach CW and company. The bottom line on the ND quarterback situation is that Charlie can make any one of them a Heisman candidate...and we will still keep opining about who the starter will be. P.S. That #1 pitcher, kept his head, adjusted to the situation, and shut out the other team the rest of the way. He later played baseball at UNLV and the University of Nevada. PursuitAce
Hey Nick, after reading my previous blather I don't know if I addressed your question. I may have just stolen several minutes of your life. In Zach and Evan's case the bias is against them. That is just the way it is. They have two choices. They can ignore it or they can use it as motivation. It just depends on their personality type as to which is the better choice for each of them. I promise to make shorter and more relevant posts in the future.

Guest SirJohn
Nope it's sad to have so many. But my personal favorite plane is the Wart Hog. I can "hear" it coming down the Ohio river every Thunder over Louisville, Derby Day weekends then the ground vibrates http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e5/YesterdaysNews42/800px-Thunderbolt_II_flight_above1.jpg[/img]
GoIrish24
SJ, in Tucson I see A-10s everyday. We have one of the better air bases at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base here. Although the A-10 aren't in the green camo like they used to be, they're all gray. Those huge gatling guns in the front are massive! One of my favorite planes too. GoIrish24
Yeah that's true... I hope it stays longer. It was pretty cool though, I saw an F-117 flying a couple of weeks ago. That's the plane in our signature. It looked so thin when I saw it from the side, and it's almost impossible to detect on radar or whatever. It's a pretty cool plane too.
