i would guess that ND will want to bring in one TE in this class and love to see it be either Jake Stoneburner or Kyle Rudolph.

Once upon a time, Charlie said two. I think he'll keep up the 2-1-2 pattern.

Two makes sense considering the importance of the TE to this offense, including a lot of two tight formations. After this year, only Reuland, Ragone, and Yeatman remain. And questions are still out there about a change for Yeatman. Even if he doesn't switch, four TE's is probably not enough on the roster for this offense.

I fully expect Charlie to stick to his word and take two TE's this year.

i'm a little confused...... (there's something new).....Is this kid's last name Rudolph or Randolph???? I've seen it listed both ways.

its Kyle Rudolph.

Ayles is from Cali so he may be a very hard pull from USC, but if anyone can do it, CW can (see Reuland)

From what I've read, I think Ayles, Austin Holt (committed to BYU), and Rudolph are the top 3 TEs in the upcoming class. Possibly in that order though I'm sure that is up for debate.

Getting top 3 TEs every year is awful nice. I think we're gonna be spoiled.

what about Blake Ayles?

USC and ASU seem to be the frontrunners for Ayles.

No worries though, we got our speed guy in Ragone and now it looks like we're pretty close to getting our "jump ball" guy in Rudolph.

Do you think he pullls the trigger soon, or do you think he is going to play the waiting game?

after watching how effective TEs are in CWs offense i don't think he'll need to wait around to long to know if ND is the place for him. i say if he looks to commit before summer then i feel real good about ND landing him.

That correct, Weis said that they will be taking 2 in '08 and that his top 2 targets are Ayles and Rudolph.

I think Rudolph could be one of the next commits and I wouldn't count out ND with Ayles yet either, it's going to be tough to get him but it's not out of the question.

Wouldn't suprise me to see him end it once basketball season is over.

well I'm all for increasing the talent base at any position, but doesn't it seem like we are taking Konrad Reuland a little for granted? The kid came in just as highly rated as Ragone and is prolly more of an all around TE at this point. Not to mention Will Yeatman.

We're in good shape at TE thats for sure.

The TE is an important part of our offense, but I think we should be ok with only taking one again this year. If it came down to taking another TE in this class or another DL or LB, then obviously I'd much rather see the schollie go to a defensive guy considering that is our biggest need in this class. We've got several quality guys at TE, no need to take a 2nd one in a class with a limited amount of offer.

Junior- Reuland, Yeatman

Sophomore- Ragone

Freshman- Rudolph

That's all well and good, but Charlie told a recruit he's taking two. And 4 on the roster really isn't enough, considering the two tight sets they use, and still needing enough to practice with-including scout team.

JF, now I understand the avatar picture. It's all about confusion with you. :D  :D

When Ayles initially had interest in ASU it was because of the way they use their TE's, which was one of former head coach Dirk Koetter's (few) strengths. Dennis Erickson (Koetter's replacement) isn't particularly noted for his use of TE's, so has Ayles commented on the coaching change and how its effected his interest?
