this kid is a product of st. rita's in chicago. 6'3", 226lbs. weakside DE. 105 tackles, 15 TFL, 9 sacks. sounds like a good CB prospect and would probaby fit nicely int a 3-4 scheme. Any thoughts???????

they seem to be really high on him over on the illinois board along with filer. it's amazing how much they are obsessed with ND over there. i don't think a thread goes by without mentioning ND in some fashion. it's actually quite amusing as well as entertaining...........

Right now Darius is very high on the Irish. I would say they slightly lead for his services but he seems very impressionable right now. He has said in the past couple weeks that he would most likely jump on a Florida offer though so I dont really like that but currently he really likes ND.

Actually he sound more like an OLB/DE, not a MLB in the 3-4.

The Illini Rivals Moderator predicted Filer and Fleming to ND.

It would be nice to have Filer, Fleming, Poz and McDonald as a LB corp.

personally i'd rather not have David Posluszny. i'd rather see ND really go after Mike Zordich, Anthony McDonald, Steven Filer, Shayne Hale, Brendan Beal or Arthur Brown.

Brown is a long shot, at best. Zordich is probably all-PSU know that they have offered.

ND's best shots at LB's look to be Filer, Posluszny, Beal, Sweat, and McDonald.

to tell you the truth, id like to have all of these guys, but some are going to go other places, and we just wont have enough schollies for others. they're all ND quality guys though, so whoever we get out of this crew, I'm gonna be happy.

LeGrand another LB from NJ is really High on ND, but we havent offered yet. I see him as a MLB or beef him up a little more and make him a weakside DE.

I would be very happy with this group. I would be even more happy if you added Legrand

I have heard good things with our chances with Fleming. Nothing for sure by any means.

This might have already been discussed but I might have just missed it. But what do you think of Charlie's approach to offering so many LB's. Do you think he has a top tier or does he see them all as fairly equal. I really like all the offers we have to LB's but let's say (purely Hypothetical here) that Sweat, McDonald, Filer, and lets add Beal all verbal to ND. Do you think he pursues long shot guys like Brown and Hale if they haven't alreaday verballed somewhere? Basically is he saying first come first serve or do you think he is holding spots for individuals like Brown, Hale or Filer.

I think he is saying exactly that: "first come, first serve."

I do NOT think we have offered a ton of LB's. He has offered 7. Yes that is seven very early in the process but it is a NEED position this year. I would think our staff is looking to grab a minimum of 4 LB's, probably 5. There is room for more LB offers.

And as for Arthur Brown, He will be a Sooner.

We need to offer guys that can play at the 240-250 mark. the middle in a 34 needs athletic, big, strong LB's.

too bad on brown, he is impressive on film

minimum 5 backers this year. brian smith will be a player in this years class. he can play the middle, but needs some more weight

I'm saying that Scott Smith will step up this year. Not a stud but will be decent.

IMO we need 2 ILB and 3 OLB in this class.

ILB- Filer, Sweat

OLB- McDonald, Beal, Fleming, and possibly Nagel

ok so I'm not that familiar with the LB setup for a 3-4. how do the sizes of the OLB and ILB differ? does the OLD hve to be bigger since they will at times be coming up to the line?

Can someone explain to me why Jon Major doesn't have an offer yet?
