WR John Goodman

This kid is 6'5" 190 lbs. and is from Fort Wayne, IN. He grew up following ND, and would love to get an offer. Oh by the way, he runs a 4.5!

I like his combo. of size and speed...I can't help but think of the Shark. Idk that he's exactly an "elite" WR, the kind that we've come accostumed to recruiting, but it seems like if we offered he'd be Irish, oh and scUM has already pulled the trigger, so he can obviously play.

The only thing that is disappointing about recruiting the best players in the country now, we might not offer future Samardijza's like this kid. Floyd, Goodman, and B. Green would be nice haul if we strike out with some of our other top targets :D

Don't get to caught into numbers there are plenty of players that have them but end up as average at best players. I'm not saying the kid is or isn't stud or good player but I could care less about numbers if they can't play.

Just look at some of the best player sports they most aren't the best of the best. Just take the NFL and let's say Jerry Rice, he's far from being the best talent but he was the best WR of all time. His numbers are average among his peers but he had great hands, was smart and a hell of a work ethic.

I know a couple of guys that seem to know everything with FW football over the last couple of years. Both told me that if offered, Goodman will go to ND. One guy said he believed Goodman already had an offer from Michigan. I can't confirm or deny this though.

I will say this, I saw him play twice this year against my alma mater, FW South. He torched South both times. South was pretty good the last couple of years with a semi state finish two years ago and then lost to Dwenger in sectional title game this year. South has VERY good athletes (they have produced a few D1 players recently including Bernard Pollard of the KC Chiefs and Purdue), probably the best in FW along with FW Harding (Selwyn Lymon of Purdue's HS). Anyways, he made the corners look silly. I hate to make comparisons to other players but the kid reminds so much of Samardzija, partly b/c of some of the circus catches I have seen in make in the games I saw him play.

One other thing about him though. In FW, the conference is full of teams that run run, and run more. So, the teams that are passing teams usually put up good stats partly b/c defenses arent used to it as really only Dwenger and FW Harding throw a lot in the conference.

I think this kid could be a very good player for ND if they get him, but he would probably be after guys like Floyd, Tate, Kemp, Green, etc. Probably a 2nd tier guy if the others fall through.

Hope this info helped.

Agree with this statement 100%.

Could be this year's Golden Tate, minus the ACT issues.

I really hope Goodman is going to be a TE. I would rather see us offer B. Green. I hope we get Green, Floyd, and, Tate in this class for WR
He's 190 pounds. What about that says TE?

Wait a minute! I thought Indiana kids didn't have any talent? Lost ALL of those Warren Central boys. I had a mom in from a guy who plays DB for the Bucs. She said ND never offered her son and he was an honor student! Bob Davie era. We all know what NFL means. So lets get Steven Barnett and this kid and lock up all of the good talent in the state. Even though they aren't any good according to some of the pm's I've received.

Well, they're right. Indiana has produced very little athletic talent if you don't count the following athletes:

Larry Bird, Jason Baker, DaMarcus Beasley, Vaughn Dunbar, Bobby Milton, Bernard Pollard, Matt Vogel, Rod Woodson, Sharon Wichman, John Andretti, Jeff George, Eric Montross, Oscar Robertson, Johnny Weaver, Mark Clayton, Jeff Gordon, Bob Griese, Rex Grossman, Gil Hodges, Shawn Kemp, Don Larsen, Kenny Lofton, Rick Mirer, Greg Oden, Mike Phipps, John Wooden, Fuzzy Zoeller, William "Dick the Bruiser" Afflis...

(you get the picture)

Oh, and we don't produce any musicians either. Unless you count:

John Mellencamp, Axl Rose, David Lee Roth, Jon McLaughlin, The Jackson Five, Kenneth "Baby Face" Edmonds, Hoagy Carmichael, Mick Mars of Motley Crue, Cole Porter...

Chiro, lets not go back down this road again.

I remember you being very upset that ND didn't offer Darren Evans. We ended up with not 1, but 2 Top 100 RB's in the nation. Did that make you feel any better about not offering Evans?

I wouldn't be too proud about Mellencamp, his music sucks and those "This is our country" Chevy commercials make me hate him even more

Hey, man, let me tell you something.

I was born in a small town in Indiana. I'll probably die in a small town in Indiana (although dying to me don’t sound like all that much fun). I lived on the outskirts of town in a pink eight room farmhouse. Life was hard, but sometimes it hurt so good. And sometimes we walked around all day long (but there was always somethin' doin').

For example, my friends Jack 'n Diane used to suck on chili dogs outside the Tastee Freeze and there was this young man I used to know in a t-shirt with a greasy hair and a greasy smile and he used to listen to a rockin’ roll station.

But I digress.

Let me just say that all of you anti-hoosiers is why I fight authority (although authority always seems to win). That, and the ice storm outside that's keeping me stuck in this stupid house.

Check it out.
