anyone have an idea or guess who it will be?

I am going to go there and say Floyd! Why not?

Does it really matter? What good is a commit if we have kids jumping ship this late in the game?

no kidding ndmike, ive never seen so many decommits, and i thought for sure ND wouldnt have any, then we have two on signing day, pretty dissapointing, but im pretty pumped for next years offense and to see how much of impact corwin brown will have on our D.

i understand your frustration but look at Kerry Neal and Aaron Nagel, committed early and stuck with it

probably david Poz

I would say there is a couple of options/chances, David Poz, Floyd (said he wants to wait though), Filer, Ryan Williams if he indeed got offered. If Braxton Cave gets offered I would think he would jump on it.

Buckner wants to announce early. And although he's going to be tough to pull away from Mack Brown, we've got a better shot than anyone else. Probably us v. Home State U again for Buckner.

Buckner will announce sometime in May.

Definitely will get someone before that, just not exactly sure who it will be.

i think if a kid is able to make a committment around this time or within a short time period from now he is solid Notre Dame and this is for sure where he wants to go to college.

it would be nice to get some commits early so they can also do some recruiting of other players, start the ball rolling now and dont stop until Feb08

scout has Buckner as having HIGH interest in ND. 6-4, 205lbs, 4.5 speed is always good in a receiver. would be nice to have such a quality pick up before memorial day.

I think its one of the D guys, Filer would be ideal

Ya like to see a good DEF player commit early to get the D going.A big time DEF recruit.

i predict the best def recruiting class will come this year ever. i know the 1 year that had something like 5 top d-lineman with grasmanis and company, but I think this year will be the best. 1) because we have a need for the defensive side of the ball and 2) because Corwin Brown is gonna work like hell to get the guys he needs in our system. 2008 and 2009 will be the years that ND will finish in the top 5 back to back years and maybe even a NC.

I predict next year that if we can get 25 commits, we'll be #1 in recruiting by year's end

After what Cahrlie said in his presser yesterday, I wouldn't look for a commitment any time soon. If he was serious about pulling an offer if a kid took a visit after committing, it could take a while to get commitments rolling in. I know if I were a parent of one of these kids, I'm sure I would want my kid to take all the visits he could to make sure he was 100%$ comfortable about his decision. As we all know, its not a 4 yr decision, its a 40 yr decision.

charlie has already hit the ground running. i think he'll be attempting to line up recruits asap. we all have learned something from this year. I know russ and i don't see eye to eye on this, but i really like coach's no bullshit approach. i think he knows pretty much right away when he meets a kid whether or not he will work in the system. with new coaches and a fresh approach, those intangibles will be removed and we will be able to move along at a better pace without all the stress and worry of a "soft verbal". imo. lets get er done..........

i'll only like it if it works but im a little worried that it could drive away a few top prospects.

There is some speculation that once Buckner receives his scholarship offer from Texas, he will commit immediately. So, I doubt he will be ND's first, if at all.

yeah i think their is a very good chance that buckner ends up at texas. he said he wants to commit early and that he's always wanted to go to texas.

I think our first commit will be Golic's kid.
