PlayLikeAChampion
This guy may end being the next coming of Alan Page, but you know what who cares. If he would change his mind based on the defensive scheme we don't want him it means he is not a team player and besides this guy has not played one down of college football and he is dictating where he would play, come on, does he think he is in the NFL. I say let him go. We want guys who bleed ND and we got a bunch of them this year one self centered self serving self annointed star can ruin a team. IE Terell Owens, Michael Vick etc its rampant in the NFL we dont need it in college especially at ND. We need to move on we don't need him. PlayLikeAChampion
I do agree with you it is his decision to make all I am saying is his criteria for making the decision IMO does not fit what we want at ND.

What we want, or what you want ??? Personally, if he decided to re-commit, I'd welcome him with open arms. You must forget being 17-19, its very easy to be influenced at that age. Especially when you're the current NC's, in a warm weather state, and a top notch class coming in with you.

Shakko
We welcomed Chris Little, even though he made another decision to go to Florida State. These kids are young. Most adults make bad decisions, so I wouldn't hold it against Trattou if he decided to come back.
irishdread
Not just that, but I understand he's a great player and all that, but who here really sees him getting on the field, with all the speed that UF already has, plus with what they're bringing in ??? JT is an excellent DE, but I just dont see him excelling on UF defense, nor will he be able to make a substantial impact sharing time with all the other speed rushers that UF has, and are getting. Guest scooper
I'd bet if you took a poll, over 50% of the current roster never bled blue and gold growing up. Not everybody is a fanatic. Recruits make their choices for a wide variety of reasons. The hope is that they bleed blue and gold by the time they leave. It's easy for us as fans to make comments like that (and yes, I admit I have) but many of us have already cast our lots in life and developed our loyalties as well. For us, this is sports entertainment-even for the alumni. For them, it's a life altering decision.

LB brian smith is probbly the only current commit that actually bleeds blue and gold.
NDFan3
Ya russ, there's not too much question where Smith's loyalty lies, but Tate is definitely a close second. Also, any kid that commits early on in the process like Neal or Nagel, you know really wants to be at ND.

MikejND
I got this from ND Nation, "the rock report" Seems a little odd JT left ND for Florida because he feels the defense is a better situation. Well Florida is also implementing a 3-4 defense. hmmmmm... Whats the excuse now? Now there's been much gnashing of teeth over the loss of stud recruit Justin Trattou to Florida. Brown is a much, much more important recruit (and I think Trattou is great.) Given the bowl blowout, DC change and change in scheme, I think we came out surprisingly good. It could have been much worse. Not only were we recruiting for Minter (and Charlie obviously didn't evaluate talent the same way,) but recruiting for a different scheme and after a bad defensive season. Ironically, Florida is also going to implementing the 3-4 hybrid so you have to think Trattou really wanted Florida (Lemming is suggesting that ND go after to Howard and Lemmens.) That said, the Irish have still won most of the head to head recruiting battles with Florida the last two years and I'm not sure the Gators will be as good on defense. I have high confidence Notre Dame will be better.
domeanddomer
Am I the only one that doesn't see Trattou in Gainsville for more than 2 years? I have a sneaking suspicion that he is going to regret his decision. He may have fun down there, but I doubt it was a good career move. Not with the lot they already have and that they have brought in this year. Everyone can't play...this isn't little league.

tdnd81
I didn't want to do this..... But we all know it was not the 3-4, it was the hummers and the hummers! ......Not the truck.
OD
My thoughts exactly tdnd81. I have bled blue and gold since birth, but when I was 18 I would have went for the Hummers too, Not the Truck.
