paisan78
I know most don't want to talk about him, and for the most part I feel the same way. But I have read on the free boards of II and a few other free boards there is talk of Weis working with Trattou on one more visit... Has anyone heard anything on this? Any shot at a recommit after the decommit... This is kinda like that episode of Seinfeld with the regifter...
Junkhead
I would be suprised if he changed his mind again, but it did seem like a rushed decision to switch.
paisan78
Yeah, I would be surprised too, but I just saw on UHND that a poster says it was Farrell on Rivals Radio that claimed Weis is making one more attempt to meet with Trattou to show him how he would fit into the 3-4... Guest shark83
Mike Farrell mentioned it on Rivals Radio (Don't worry mods, Rivals Radio is on Sirius Satelite Radio and you can listen to it free on Rivals, so it's not premium ) Dunno how true it is though. Ital-Irish
I'd be surprised too, word is Urban is pulling all these recruits because he's promising a date with Joakim Noah. http://msn.foxsports.com/id/5447774_7_2.jpg
Guest IndyIrish
I'd love for this to be true, BUT: Is Weis even allowed to visit JT again? Did he not just visit him last week, which would be his one allowed in-home visit?
PlayLikeAChampion
This guy may end being the next coming of Alan Page, but you know what who cares. If he would change his mond based on the defensive scheme we don't want him it means he is not a team player and besides this guy has not played one down of college football and he is dictating where he would play, come on does he think he is in the NFL. I say let him go we want guys who bleed ND and we got a bunch of them this year one self centered self serving self annointed star can ruin the a team. IE terrel Owens, Micahel Vick etc its rampant in the NFL we dont need it in college especially at ND. We nnned to move on we don't nned him. dangeruss
Weis is making one more attempt to meet with Trattou to show him how he would fit into the 3-4... in the SBT justin trattou said that in the 3-4 scheme they wanted him to play the OLB/Rush End position and he said he saw himself as a true DE in a 4-3 scheme. HeliND
If the visit happens, I guess we'll truly see the closing abilities of Brown and Weis
MikejND
IT's said that they are visiting today... Time to pull out Flight aware.
Shakko
Plane hasn't moved since the 29th. So, either Weis is staying under the radar and travelling commerical, or the rumors are wishful thinking.
Guest IrishCPA
Plane hasn't moved since the 29th. So, either Weis is staying under the radar and travelling commerical, or the rumors are wishful thinking. Charlie does not always use the plane. He sometimes uses a local dealer's plane in this area and they also charter planes for him.
hogan46
If Weis pulls it off, and I'm not holding my breath, we will not learn anything until Signing Day. It would be too much back and forth.

SpecialFNK
id like to get Trattou back ..not just because of his talent, but to pull him back away from Florida
PlayLikeAChampion
We are not going to get him back but I still say we don't need him.
patches12345
PlayLikeAChampion Please dont post anything like that saying we don't need someone. In the end if he wants to be Irish, then NDNation will welcome him in with open arms. If he feels this isnt the best place for him then good luck down in UF. PlayLikeAChampion
I agree but he has made his decision and its just time to move on all I am saying is one player doesn't make a team if he wants to come fine but if not we don't need to lament over it on to the next player that wants to come and be welcomed
Guest weisforprez
Hey Play this thread isn't about us lamenting Trattou leaving, we got that out of our system last week. All this thread is saying is that their is at least effort from the ND staff to try and clear some things up with this kid. Frankly I would love him to come back to ND, and I firmly believe that he was VERY Irish for a long time (He didn't even take any other officials besides ND). So I think its worth it for the staff to talk to him and make sure that the scheme alone isn't scaring him away, and also remind him that he's MUCH more likely to see the field as a freshman and sophomore at ND than as a Gator. So if he recommits great. If he doesn't oh well. But lets not compare this kid to TO and Vick (which you did in 2 different threads). Keep in mind our DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR left, and he plays defense, so its perfectly fair for him to rethink his decision when staff leaves. And might I remind you that we currently have 2 players on our commit list right now (Gray and B. Smith) that were commited to other schools before going Irish. And there was no coaching changes in these cases.
NicePost
IrishCPA, I for one would like to see you post considerably more often than you do now. At least once a day would be nice.
