Rumor has it that Iowa has pulled his scholarship. Only a rumor.

Brian is taking a visit this weekend to ND. Not a rumor.

My call is that he is Irish.

If thats true about Iowa pulling his schollie, then that is bushleague BS from Ferentz.

Smith will soften the blow of JT. He might have had a point about not fitting a new scheme.

I don't necessarily view it as BS. I view it as making Brian's decision much easier.

That sucks. Even though I think it would help us with Brian, I hate how some schools have this policy. These recruits should be able to take all of their officials without fear of losing a schollie over it. Brian doesn't deserve to have his schollie revoked just because he wants to make sure he is making the right choice.

Its good for us, but recruits shouldnt fear losing their schollies over a coaches pride.

Thanks SirJohn. Great to be here.

What bugs me about him possibly losing his schollie is that he has been honest with everyone.

"Iowa is the favorite unless ND offers"

"ND is my dream school"

"This is pretty much it unless ND offers"

Ferentz had to consider him a soft verbal the entire season. Why else would he have recruited 5 other LBs?

There is no way Iowa pulled his scholarship without him knowing the policy on that, or either the coach calling him letting him know the circumstances. I have to believe he knew the effect it would have if he took a visit.

I just heard from a friend that KF pulled his scholarship, like he did w/ Rouse after he visited Wisconsin. Take it for what its worth. Sounds like a good source.

It apparently was on Jon Millers radio show.

Rouse lost his offer as he went ahead and arranged a visit after committing, but was not up front with the Iowa coaches about it.

I suspect Ferentz has decided to take a tougher stand on guys who aren't exactly honest about their discussions with other suitors, and yanked Smiths like he did with Rouse.

Too bad. He seemed like a nice kid.

Lord, let's grab Rouse while we're at it.

I have a hard time believing this, but IF this rumor is true, this will get out and people like CW will benefit. I would be much more open to someone who says "take all your visits to make sure you're making the right choice" over someone who might pull my schollie for doing that. There has to be more to it than this though

Well, this isn't that uncommon. I know Randy Edsall at UConn has a similar policy. You visit elsewhere and you no longer have an offer. It makes sence. If you are looking you might leave later in the process. Better to give yourself as much time to fill the void rather than losing the kid at the last second. If this is true it would basically send him to ND.

Rouse + Smith > Donald + Edwards (in the 3-4)

Smith has similar measurables to Donald anyway. With both able to play in the middle of a 4 LB set, they'd be great to have :)

Colasanti + Dailey > them all

Yea, that PSU LB corps is very good .. keeps the LBU tradition. Stupar is a good compliment to Colasanti and Dailey.
