I was the first to post about Trattou visiting Gainesville, in which many posters told me that my source "needed to put the bottle down" and that there was "no chance." Well, we found out this was indeed true.

Β

From what he is telling me, as of this morning, Trattou is slightly favoring the Gators going into his unofficial to Notre Dame. Basically, this one is closer than we think. Hopefully when he re-visits ND it will refresh his memory as to why he committed to ND in the first place.

no no no no. losing trattou would be a huge blow for NDs defense considering that he could come in and start right away. i would think that with the players UF has got commits from that he could start at ND sooner then at UF. not to mention that UF has both returning DEs back next year.

I think Jarvis Moss is going pro (Florida DE). I really hope we don't lose out on Trattou, that would be a huge blow.

I am walking away from my computer right now and pretending like I never read this post....

:(

I'm not going to panic. I think talking to Corwin Brown and coming back to campus will help. He is taking an unofficial, so that their tells me he is unsure of something. Maybe not ND, maybe the Defense, either way he would be crazy to go to Florida.

PJackson, you're telling me that you've actually talked to him?

Let's hope he has a very good visit. He has the benefit of being in on those conversations with the coaches and we don't, but I hope CB outlines his vision for the defense and this is compelling to JT.

Β

In CBs presser, I was a little underwhelmed - but I do understand he is not going to get into details of his plan with the media. I was hoping he might say something like "well, since I played and coached the DBs, I had to have an understanding of the whole scheme" rather than "I know how football should be played". He did allude to calling plays occasionally, so we'll see how this plays out.

Β

I'm not knocking CB either, I think many of his other comments were very classy, he clearly embraces ND and will make a recruiting impact.

In response to Indy, no I haven't...I was referring to my source...

Β

In response to Jersey...I never said he was going to decommit or sign with UF...I said that my good friend, a UF alumni and recruitnik, told me that Trattou was slightly favoring UF...This in large part to an overheard phone conversation.

JT and his family are coming to ND on their on dollar so ND should be good. I just think that they want to see what the defensive scheme is. If they like it great, if not then not so great but life goes on. Like i said in an earlier post you have to be able to adjust if not then you will be a bust at any level.

you had just posted that you were told/your source- " to put the bottle down " and " no chance "

Β

2 things which I said and still stand by.

Β

overheard phone conversation? thats funny. what was he in Urban's office or the head UF recruiters office. or in Justin's living room? c'mon

If he was truly on the fence, I have to believe that he would have done the same thing that Gray did, withdraw his verbal. He didn't do that. He is probably feeling a lack of love, but to pay for his own trip to ND in the middle of January says a lot. He has to be Irish.

Β

From what I have heard and read, the reason for Florida bringing Trattou in was to get Dunlap to commit.

How can you stand by those comments when in fact Trattou did visit Gainesville?

Β

And yes, it was a conversation between players on speaker phone...thats all I can really say about it, and its more than I wanted to say...but take it for what its worth.

Β

Again, by no means am I saying he is going to UF. I still think in the end he will stick with the good guys.

Dred, Thanks for the info and keeping us up to date. He needs to do what's best for him and go there. Yea that would suck for ND if he chose FL, but we will survive either way.

Β

I still think he chooses ND though :)

I completely agree with everything you just said. IMO he is rethinking this:

1. because the Gators just won the NC and

2. with the new DC who he has possibly has never met, his level of comfort with ND has diminished slightly. Once CB assures him that he will be a huge part of our defense I think that he will reaffirm his commitment to ND.

A friend of mine, an alumni from UF, just told me that Trattou was visiting Gainesville this weekend. Would be pretty rough losing him to Cryer.

Β

that was your original post on this.

Β

I replied with tell'em to put the bottle down-implying we will not be losing him to Cryer.

Β

I then posted that he is 110% IRISH and there is a snowballs chance in hell he doesn't sign with ND on NSD.

Β

he will do so, that is why and how I can stand by my comments.

Β

a conversation between players over a speaker phone?

Β

your source gets better all the time.

Β

tell'em congrats on winning the Championship, but don't hold your breath on Trattou
