Guys we have a little over 2 weeks and we don't have a clue who our next commit is going to be.I'm starting to get restless becuase it seems that everything is under wraps on the recruits. With the coaching change it seems that we haven't herd much on the recruiting scene except Cw flying around.Lets all dig deep and see if we can find out who will be the next few and I mean the next few recruits are going to be.Lets get pumped up guys.

i hope to god that our next recruit is either malcolm smith or hughes or maybe if we are gods favorite team, which is possible, that we can pull away a recruit that has already committed like lets say a Lorenzo Edwards!!!

If Paul Stefanik receives an offer then you can officially assume that Charlie has hit the panic button. This kid has no business receiving an offer, and please, for god's sake, none of this crap about "if he's good enough for Charlie, he's good enough for me." This kid didn't even get an offer from Cincinnati or Akron. He committed to Kent State. Let me repeat that . . . Kent State. He runs a 4.8 and is a 2-star LB. Charlie, what the hell are you thinking?

as a guy who's wife graduated from kent st., saw kent st. alum lou holtz speak there in '91 and who currently LIVES in kent, let me say @!#$# you!! :D

in all seriousness, kent st. had only it's second non-losing season in 20 years last year. they're on their way up and are my second fav college football team...

it is a great basketball school, however...

Let me just shed a little positive light upon this kid. No, he is not highly recurited nor has a ton of stars next to his name.

However, I live in western PA. And the WPIAL is one of the best football conferences in the nation. I went to Jeannette which is a AA school and is the home of Tyrelle Prior (if you haven't heard of him, you will). Paul plays AAAA football, which is the cream of the crop around here. These kids can play, hit, and run...stars be damned.

Football is king around here and he may not be flashy, but I promise you he will be a work horse.

I put out a couple of feelers about the kid and I'll post whatever I hear.

Are you guys overreacting a little bit? Unless Shark83 you heard some solid recruiting news about Nick Wood or Paul Stefanik, I think we shouldn't hit the panic button on something which is just speculation.

Why I think it is so quiet is that pretty much everyone is committed with only a couple of weeks left to NSD. We may see a couple more names pop before NSD, but I think ND is moving onto the 2008 recruits.

AAAS, nice to see a WPIAL guy on this board. We will be expecting inside info on Hale, Baldwin, Saddler, Nix in the following months  j/k with ya. Welcome to DD.

Terrelle Pryor=Vince Young of H.S. Football. I saw the kid play in the State Championship & now I'm the President of his fan club lol

Too bad Sukay wanted to play for old JoePa  .

Austin-FSU

Jones-Texas

Blackwell-LSU

Galippo-USC

Donald-Tennesee

Edwards-UF

Having only landed Williams, Paskorz, and Nagel in the Front 7 Recruiting and missing out a lot of our Plan A guys, do you just think CW is going to say, "Ah, no need to recruit any more DL or LB's, considering how thin we are at those spots?

Cool. Always good to hear from someone with some similar roots.

I feel like PA could be some untapped recruiting grounds for ND especially in the future with old JoePa nearing retirement and the sweet stench of failure following Wannstache in Pittsburgh.

At least where I'm from there are at least as many ND fans as Pitt or PSU fans.

I agree man.

The longer JoePa stays @ PSU, the better it will be for us. And he isn't going anywhere anytime soon. PSU is defintely going to lose some of it's luster, as more and more 17-18 years old find it harder to relate to a coach that old.

As for Wanny, he seems to be a pretty good recruiter but good gameday coach definitely isn't on his resume. I'm not sure how much longer he will be given to produce @ Pitt.

First, I agree Shark we didn't get the guys you list. My point is why do you bring up Wood and Stefanik? Did we offer them?

We do need help on Defensive side of the ball, but it there anyone out there at this late moment we can grab or steal?

Stefanik is a recruit who has offers from the MAC schools and commited to Kent St., however he has been hearing from ND, Michigan, MSU & NC St. .

Nick Wood was a DT who ND had interest in, but IMO wanted to see what Blackwell was going to do before offering. Nick commited to Washington awhile ago. Nick put up 50 reps @ the LA Nike Camp. Pretty impressive.

Here's some noise...these jackass' at Rivals are really beginning to piss me off

For the life of me I can't understand why Gary Gray dropped to the #7 CB in the country, and is now graded a 5.9 by Rivals. GG is a stud and IMO will be a big time player for us in the near future.

GG started the season off as a 5* top 25 player, and has since been demoted to a 4* guy who doesn't even crack the top 50!! I'm just curious, WHY!!!!!???

Gray is very skilled and has impressive film. Just 2 weeks ago he absolutley shut down the 5* WR Terrance Tolliver at the AAA game, effectively proving to everyone that his 5'10" 163lb. frame doesn't mean shit. When that happened Gary was the #4 ranked CB in the country and had a 6.0 rating. However, after his stellar AAA performance his stock fell. And conveniently Donovan Warren (likely USC commit) and Doug Wiggins (honestly I don't even know who he is) were both given 5*s.

I'd like to say that rankings don't mean anything, and in reality they don't, but the fact of the matter is everyone looks at them. Now USC fans can brag that they have 6 five stars while us ND fans got screwed out of having another one....

Rivals rankings are total bullshit lately! Whenever someone commits to the irish, they are downgraded!!! Look at Trattou, he is a four star, he is easily a 5 star!!! I know its not gonna happen, but lets say Trattou decommits to go to Florida, i guarantee he gets a 5 star ranking and atleast top 25! That is bullshit!!!
