since we lost out on edwards and donald i was wondering if ND would think about moving tate to WR and little to OLB.

It is possible, but during the AA practices he impressed a lot of people at WR, and I think that is where CW wants him (I know that is where he wants to play).

 

I also now believe that there is no way JT ends up at DT. He is a beast at DE, and will likely stay there.

However, I seriously doubt it ever happens for a number of reasons. First, we told Little that he would play wideout -- and it's not like he didn't look good at the AA Bowl. I think we would only go back on that promise if he wasn't going to see the field as a wideout (which would be a nice situation b/c it'd mean we were LOADED there, but something the staff could NOT be sure of for a couple of years at least).

 

Second, he would be an OUTSIDE linebacker. As I understand it, that is not where we're the worst off. We're thin at middle linebacker -- where it's Toryan Smith and no one this year. Outside we already have two in this class (to go with the young Maurice Crum, Jr.): Nagel and (most likely) Paskorz. More at any defensive position would be good, but OLB isn't so bad off that we should convert Little straight away.

 

In other words, I don't think it'll happen, but I could be wrong.

Tate could also play DB. Possibly move Zibby to LB! Zach Thomas is literally 5'7". 235 He plays for Dolphins. Zibby needs to switch.He could do it.

I have to agree that its not wise to move Little to LB when he looks so good at WR. I don't think we'll end up that desperate at LB guys, I really don't. Toryan Smith has played great, Crum still has 2 years of eligibility left, so there is only 1 spot left to fill and there are plenty of guys to fill.

 

AND, we haven't hit signing day yet this year so anything can happen with Edwards or Malcolm Smith.

I think we need to get the youngsters in next year. Toryan MLB, Crum OLB, Richardson/Neal/Nagel OLB, Bruton/Brown/Herring manning the safety position. Trattou at DE. Maybe get Neal/Wade some time as well.

 

It may hurt the first few games next year, but let's face it, we will not be competing for BCS next year. I feel playing these young guys will greatly benefit ND in both depth, skill, and experience in 2008.

yeah i like GL at wr and thats where he'll probbly stay. i was also thinking that ND might want to move m. richardson from DE back to OLB. with neal and trattou coming in i think richardsons athletic ability would be better suited for OLB.

If you want to take advantage of his aggressive nature, put him at LB.

i think that m. richardson will probbly get switched back to OLB. i love this kids play he's got size and good speed (4.5), i see him having trouble putting on enough weight to play DE.

GL is a WR. He has said this quite a few times and was turned off by schools that were recruiting him on D. ND just needs to get him on the field regardless of position.

Agree Russ. I think one of the Irish Eyes writers (M. Frank maybe) said he's almost certain M. Richardson will move back to LB (Strongside I think). Losing Donald and Edwards makes that even more likely. He could compete with Brockington for the starting job.

 

We'll be ok with Trattou, Neal, Ryan, Wade, and Justin Brown at DE. I think Trattou, Ryan, and Brown will be the rotation for the most part next year.

ya travis has to go back to rb, i didnt feel to strong with him at lb.

I think tate and little will play wr? kinda seems that way.

 

Guys, i dont think zibby is coming back, but if he did i dont think they would move him to lb (unfortunetly)
