Guys, here it is. Ian Williams interview....

1) What was the biggest factor in choosing ND?

I would have to say the academics and the tradition ND has and that I have a chance to come in and contribute to the team early. I also want a NC and I think Weis and Clausen can get me one.

2) What are your strengths and weaknesses?

My strengths are reading the ball and reacting... run stopping and playing smart… knowing down and distance.

Some weaknesses are pass rushing and lining up on my left hand. I need to mature also.

3) How do you feel about your chances to start early?

Well I probably won’t start freshman year if Laws comes back but if he leaves I have a great shot at winning out the position... it would be great and would be a dream come true to start and make an impact my freshman year.

4) Did the location of South Bend factor into your decision at all?

Haha actually I wish it was closer... but there’s no problem with the city... there is enough to do when your not at school or Fb but it’s not big either. Which could keep me out of trouble.

5) What's your favorite food?

lol it doesn’t matter... as long as it’s warm and taste good.... but if I really had to choose I would have to say pizza.

6) What do you think will be the best part of your experience at ND?

Getting my degree from a school like ND and having lifelong contacts

7) Are you trying to recruit other players for ND?

Hecks yea!! Chris Little, Lorenzo Edwards, I talked to Taylor before he committed and im going to try and talk to Major Wright..

8) Did the coaches put any pressure on you to commit?

Actually no they didn’t.... I was very surprised and admired that they respected me and left it all up to me... that showed me a lot.

9) With another ND commitment a factor of his commitment was reading Internet boards. Do you read Internet boards, and do they factor into your decision at all as to what people are saying about you?

Yeah I read them but I don’t really care what people say about me. I’ve learned a lot of stuff on the way and one saying was don’t let other people bring you down. Only you can bring yourself down... Ian’s to small is to weak.... I’ve heard stuff like that and all of it is fuel to my fire.

10) Have you taken a visit yet, and if so what was the feeling like when you got on campus?

Well I took my official back in September during the Penn State game and I had a great time but it was really rushed... like everything went by so fast and I didn’t have time to stop and see what ND was all about... so I came back up a few weeks ago to experience the real ND and I fell in love with everything and the ladies aren’t to bad either haha.

11) Do you know what you'll major in yet?

Not yet but I have some on my mind ive been thinking about... like sports marketing, business management, or TV broadcasting... those are just a few that vie been really interested in.... im also interested in space science and astronomy but that’s just a lil fantasy of mine to go into space...

he seems like a really loose guy, real nice, ill post the ending of the email a little later on.

Outstanding Gallup!!!

heres the ending of the email....

"well it was my pleasure doin this for you man... anytime you need me just holla at me aiight.... and i know you'll be watchin the game when ND plays LSU... i hope we win lol.... but yeah hit me up sometime and i'll let you know if i can make it up for the spring game."

Great job, Nick!!!

Awesome interview Gallup!!! Ian sounds like a great kid, and I am really happy that we were able to get him. Even if he doesn't start next year, he could easily work himself into the rotation, and at 290+ he is going to be a great hole filler from day 1.

Thanks Gallup, and by the way I love that sig. I'm assuming that's Sam Young you're referring to?

atrain- yup, its Sam Young. He was on IM a few days ago and i showed him the quote in my profile

What a stud, he is a great addition to the class.

Good lookin on the interview... nice read, sounds like a coo guy...

Great job Nick and what a great read.

Hey GALLUP,

Did you see Barry on the front of the sports page in the SB Tribune as part of the Bob Morton article? Funny thing is I was reading the paper over a cup of coffee in the kitchen with my wife and I must have said out loud "Gallup would flip if he saw this". Then I hear my wife ask me "Who the hell is Gallup?"

Hahaha, that's hilarious man!

Excellent job Nick! I hope Ian acheives what he has set his sight's on...
