I want to land this kid very badly... with the exception of Joe McKnight and Chris Donald... he is at the top of my realistic wish list

Is he scheduled to announce at the AA game?

Featured Replies

He is indeed a 'horse' on defense. He plays linebacker of course, but has the ability to fall off into a coverage zone. The only thing that I see as being a hurdle is his being looked at as a running back by Cal? He would be a transitional player for them...but he is very talented. He could be exactly the kind of player the Irish are looking for? Hope he commit's...

Is it possible we could look at his as a RB if Hughes follows Tez to Ill. ?

Or are we only recruiting him on D

Ya, I know exactly what you mean, Malcolm is right near the top of my list too. With speed and athleticism problems we've had on defense, something about a 6'2" 215lb. freshman who runs a 4.4 and a 4.13 shuttle sounds VERY appealing.

Well, I have seen this kid play for awhile now...he is an athelete! Hopefully Coach Weis will get to make that decision?

If we miss on Hughes then I would expect him to get a look at RB, along with Tate and Paskorz.

I don't think that it matters what Hughes does, we need this guy at LB.

malcom smith was not invited to play in the AA game which makes me scratch my head considering that aaron nigal got invited. malcom smith was invited to play in rivals new AA game down in florida, which is basically an AA game for those who didn't get invited to the AA game in texas (it's basically a watered down AA game). i totally agree m. smith is one recruite who is at the top of my wish list as well, he would bring great playmaking ability to the LB position. as of now i belive it's between ND and Cal.

I didn't research the depth chart - just going off what my Cal buddy mentioned, but I think Cal has also signed a few 4-star RBs in the past two years. Plus Best this year. If true, they may be getting into the same situation as USC with a ton of depth at the position.

Hopefully this will make things easier for us, but you're right, we'll need this guy at LB.

Malcolm is being recruited as an OLB

You can thank Tom Lemming for that pick lol.

I think Nagel deserves some credit for his selection too. Hey Shamrock, other than the Yanks, the Isotopes are my 2nd favorite team, nice avatar!

Malcolm Smith just got a whole lot more important to this recruiting class.

I like where we stand with him. but I have nothing factual.

Are you saying that because Tez chose illinois?

Yes

Malcom is playing in the other all star game. The same one that Nuss is playing in.
