NO. I would not say that Wilson looks to be Illinois. Illinois simply looks to be a serious threat to ND for him.

 

They don't have hot girls at Illinois, they just have individuals who are willing to provide "stability" to a recruit and his family. Illinois' firmly believes that it is important that a recruits family have a nice job and a nice house.

 

IMO, Chris Little appears to be more of a ND vs. Clemson battle.

losing tez is not a big deal at all, we got two big time ends and probably a third in Martin

I have to disagree on Wilson. He's an explosive OLB, and we need that on D. Heck we just need explosive ATH's on D. He fits the bill. Let's hope Charlie's in-home goes well. I just think the fact he is going to verbal with Brendt is not a good sign for us and a great one for the Fighting Zookers.

 

Glad Auburn and FLA ran out of room for Ian Williams. He's a big catch for us if he verballs next week.

In an article I just read over at II Little sounded to be leaning to GA. He said he was comfy there and liked all the coaches and players etc.. He also said he probably wasn't going to look at fla anymore because of this weekend. I don't know what to make of it but it doesn't make me feel good.

 

Tez announcing at the same time as his buddy is not a good sign either. All the talk of Donald to TN is making me worry there too. I felt really good that he wasn't going to announce till AA because I thought it meant he wanted to hold off disappointing the home town peeps but i'm alot less sure of things now. Martin, Tez, Donald, Tratou, Neal, Williams, Gray, Harrison, ZO et al would REALLY fix the D issues we've had for years here.

IMO, it is going to be a lot harder to land the defensive studs than the offensive studs, until our defense actually shows it can play with the big boys.

 

Guys like Quinn, Samardjiza, Stovall, Fasano, Carlson, and Walker all thrived under Weis and his system. Players like Clausen, Jones, Aldridge, Allen, Reuland, Ragone, Kamara & Little know what CW can do to help them get to the next level.

 

But can you seriously name a defensive player that thrived under Minter and his system?

Hey that's (fighting Zookers) from Reece Davis on ESPN. Know Reece from when he was in Mid-michigan. Great guy. Why would anyone love Illinois. Seriously. Amazing we are losing recruits to them. Strange things have happened to this program since the BC drive in 1992. I was in the stands. 39-38 ND kicks off. Strange personal foul on ND. And then the idiot Minter goes into some version of the cover 2 and leaves Pete Mitchell WIDE open. Foley to Mitchell, Foley to Mitchell....God it was terrible. I cried with some old geezer after we lost. Last time we won a bowl game was 1993 vs A&M. God we need these 5 star recruits AND a bowl win! Now we are losing Benn (who was a silent) and Martez to Zook?!?!? I'm just kind of shocked to be honest. This strange stuff keeps happening. I mean Illinois is terrible. Have a good night everyone. Oh anyone watching Cutler? Luginbill from ESPNU thinks Clausen is a lot like Cutler. If so he has a GUN!

I live in Florida and have heard more than enough talk around the water cooler for the past several years. Zook is doing at Illiniois exactly what he did at Florida, and the Florida fans are amused by it because the Illini fans don't yet realize this. Zook could recruit like a madman down in Gainesville, and he did so, but at these blue chip recruits entered the Zook philiosophy under the Gator banner, the wins became losses. Gator fans were, at first, patient. I remember the talk as if it was yesterday, "He'll turn it around, just look at the commits we got this year (2003), andre caldwell 5 star WR, chad jackson 5 star WR, and Jarvis Moss 5 star DE. We'll be awesome!!" Well, Zook managed to lose with a boat load of 4 and 5 star recruits. It got so bad that a very popular website, http://www.fireronzook.com made a mint selling fire Zook T-shirts and bumper stickers. The website is gone now, but you will see it again coming from Illinois soon enough. Right now, the Illini are saying the same thing the Gators said. Just give him time with these stellar recruits. Yeah, right. Good plan Illinois. This guy is a loser. The Illini will find out when the wins don't come, just like the Gators did. I'll be less than honest if I said that I won't enjoy that revelation by the Illini when it happens. Just sad that another group of stellar athletes are buying in to the Zook crap again. Oh well.

Nice post, Nicepost. There is just no reasonable explanation for pissing away the great talent that he had on his teams. Not that I've 100% given up on Tez, but I just hope that he knows what Zook was unable to do with all of that talent in Florida before he goes and does something he will regret.

Regarding C Little, I thought I read today in a UGA update that they landed like their 9th OL commit for THIS YEAR. I mean honestly, what OL in their right mind would join a class and become their 10th OL commit. That is F'n rediculous. Everyone thought our OL class of 6 last year was huge, they should look at UGAs. So with that in mind, if his last update is how he really feels, because he has been changing his top 3 almost every week, I'd say its us and UF, and with Nwankwo supposedly being denied by UF weeks ago, I doubt they'll open up for Little. So we go that going for us, which is nice.

Why do you see the need to antagonize another teams boards because of the swelled pride of landing a couple recruits. You are not wanted and are quite annoying.

 

I am not gonna tell you that it is ludicrous to think that you can talk trash to a quality, storied program because your new coach has managed two, two win seasons and some blue chippers.

 

I would just hope that you stay excited that you have had some successes and hope that you can win some more and turn it around, but get the hell out of here!

Can this guy pretend...just a little bit to be an Irish fan? I read posters just like BLG on the other sites. And to credit them...they are fans just like us...with their own opinions towards their teams. But I basically do not care about the other programs outside of how they may affect us on the recruiting front. Oh well. He is but one person...I come here to read what my fellow Domer's have posted.
