Some main points from it:

- didn't make it to OSU b/c of "transportation issues" Will NOT be rescheduling, he's done with visits

- really enjoyed his time at Illinois, esp. the social scene on Fri/Sat

- needs time to thinks things through and will be announcing 12/20 at his high school

- his buddy Josh Brent will be announcing at the same time

did the article give you any feeling as to which way he is leaning?

It gave me a feeling that Illinois is a true threat on Tez. Josh Brent is expected to come to Tez' high school to announce at the same time. The problem is that Brent is expected to announce for Illinois.

He did not seem as enthused as his ND visit, and he also seemed to just confirm what he already knew about Illinois. It also sounds like he didn't mind not going to OSU, as if it never had any bearing on his choice, and he went down to Illinois with some friends cause it was close and they could drive it.

 

IMO, the worry here is that Brent is chosing between OSU and Illinois, so one worrys that they announce together. Why would they announce for different schools at the same PC, unless Wilson doesn't want to let Zooker down to bad, seeing as Zook thought he had him wrapped up, which I could see happening.

 

Anyone know where Brent is gonna go?

Yeah. Doesn't sound good too me either. Sounds like tthe Allen and DVD announcement before Allen switched.

He said OSU is out, it'd ND, SC and UI. I would love to have him but better Illinois than USC.

I still think he's Irish cuz of the decision date he put out there following the visit.

The OSU boards are just as interested because they are looking at Brent as seriously as we are looking at Tez. They seem to be leaning to the same conclusion that both are going to Ill.

Does anyone else get the feeling that we are teetering on the edge of either having a very good class or having the best ND class ever. There are so many guys that have us in their top 2. If they start falling for ND one after the other...WOW!!! If they start going the other way it will be a very good class that is known as the class that almost was. The kind of class that we sit around saying, "Man if we only could have..."! Just look at what hangs in the balance...(Tez, Hughes, Martin, Griffin, Edwards, Williams, Blackwell, Peters, Donald, Smith, Benn ) That list is frickin scary!!! Keep your fingers crossed gang...this could get very interesting.

I actually have the feeling that Tez has known for awhile that he was headed to U of I.

 

Of course, I have no legitimate reason to believe this, other than what I have read the last couple of months.

It does sound a lot like Martez is going to Illinoios. If his "buddy" Josh Brent is a lock for Illinois, Josh is announcing the same day and at same school as Martez, I am starting to see the writing on the wall.

 

Although, I heard Martez had a good visit at ND, I have to believe Josh is recruiting Martez to go with him, "Martez, if we both announce together can you imagine the push it will have for Illinois recruiting? Let's go for it."

 

The sad thing is 3 top 150 players at Illinois does not make a winning season in 2007!

Last I heard Illinois pulled Brents scholarship offer and said he was not what they were looking for! Wonder what hapened?

Why would Brent come to Martez's school to announce unless they were both committing to the same school? That's what really discourages me.
