I saw something on rivals today that said "North Fort Myers, Fla. running back Noel Devine has had a soap opera high school career and it fittingly ended with a bit more controversy this past weekend. Devine talks exclusively about schools he is looking at, the most recent controversy." Has anybody heard about this.

I believe it had something to do with Noel getting into a fight at the end of his final high school game and he will not be allowed to play in the local high school all-star game.

this kid is a total basket case. i really hope he gets his life organized cause he could really make a name for himself.

Devine was stopped on a 3rd-and-1 and a 4th-and-1 at the North Fort Myers 44 with 2:50 remaining in the game and his team trailing 20-14. Earlier in the fourth quarter, a Devine fumble led to the winning score for Manatee. On the final play of the game, Devine was stopped for no gain at the Manatee 46-yardline with 17.5 seconds left in the game and North Fort Myers looking for a miracle.

 

(Devine then got into a verbal shouting match with a coach and finds himself suspended)

 

Devine:

"This kind of stuff is why I think I need to get out of the area when I go off to college. I feel that people are out to get me here and now that I'm not playing football anymore it will get worse."

Devine will be enrolling in January--at a prep school. The same school that LeSean McCoy is currently attending. It is Milford Academy in NY.

'broker'...read an interesting article on ESPN Insider awhile back. Man, they could beat alot of teams with the talent that has to attend Milford? Most will end up in the SEC. I will try to find this article. Should/could be archived?

Yea Jag, you aren't the first person who's told me about Milford being a diploma factory. They aren't doing the kids any favors if they are just passing them along just so they can to play college football somewhere. I wonder if the NCAA will ever investigate them.

 

LeSean McCoy is a good friend of mine and I asked him about his grades at Milford and he told me he was getting straight A's.

 

He's pretty much waiting to see if he has a qualifying SAT score, but it's pretty much a done deal for PSU. However, he is taking an official to Pitt and PSU before he decides, so he could change his mind between now and January. I dunno how I'm gonna be able to root for if he plays for my most hated team, PSU

 

His godfather is taking me to the Pistons @ Nets game on Saturday and has sideline passes for the Eagles @ Giants game on Sunday, so I'll have to see whats up with LeSean.
