Guest NDEagles379
Thanks Jersey. I was waiting to hear about the 5th years. That's really good news about Laws and Sullivan! I'm not that surprised about those first three mentioned. They saw the writing on the wall in terms of playing time. Nice of the staff to ask them to return. Zibby and Carlson are the final two. Zibby won't go that high in the draft, but he'll get drafted and I think if he gets fully healthy (seems to still favor his shoulder since that hit) and slims down a bit, he could be a pretty good strong safety in the NFL. I don't think we need him next year. I'm looking forward to Ray Herring. I sure hope Carlson comes back, but if not, I wish him luck. Guest AtlantaIrish
I think Zibby should come back and be switched to outside linebacker. He isn't going to cut it at safety in the pros but could become a really good linebacker. I hope Carlson comes back but I'm not sure why he would unless his injury is really serious. He was clearly the best tightend this year and will get drafted high. Yeah, i know his blocking skills aren't as good as Fasano, but it's the pros, not many TE are known for their blocking. nd1baby
I think Zibby should come back and be switched to outside linebacker. Agree completely. He has the LB mentality and physical gifts to match.
Ital-Irish
Wow, I honestly had never thought of Zibby as a linebacker, but he would be amazing. He wouldn't have to worry about covering the deep ball so he could be more aggressive. Plus, he already hits as hard as a linebacker. I really love that move. dangeruss
i just hope carlson, sullivan, laws come back. don't really care to much if zibby leaves he's a bit overrated IMO, he gets beat way to easy. might as well get the young guys in to see what they can do. Guest NDEagles379
Agreed Russ. Those 3 are key. Sounds like Sully and Laws are coming back. Zibby will not be switched to LB. His only shot in the NFL is at strong safety, even if it worked for us having him at OLB next year. He's not big enough for LB, and he has enough speed to be a safety. He just needs to work on his coverage skills.
FROSH
JC to JC all year long. if you can't learn to throw the John Carlson, then I don't think you could throw to anyone. He has amazing hands, body control, and positions himself well for the QB's throw. I may be partial to John Carlson as a Steds resident, but I think he'll be our best player back next year. Soko
To be honest I'm not expecting too much for next year so if none of them came back it wouldn't break my heart bar Laws. We would get destroyed on the DL without him I want to see the young guys play, Reuland, Wenger, Walls, McNeil, Herring, Bruton etc... They will be carrying the NC hopes in 2008
FROSH
agreed soko, however, i do believe that it would be good to for the younger guys to have another year of mentoring before they get thrown into the game. i still think they'll get play time next year. NDFan3
It's great to hear that those guys are definitely coming back. Especially Laws...with our inability to creat more depth at DT, it's great to see that he will be back for another year.
Guest TDJesus3
guys dont get ur hopes down for next year i think you will be suprised, this sophmore class is filled with talent and i think you will see a ton of hunger, add to that some key older guys and we should be just fine it all comes down to the QB, and it just happens we have the best QB coach in the entire country, i got a feeling we will be just fine

Guest NDEagles379
Per UHND: Dwight Stevenson Jr. Geoff Price Nick Borseti Joe Brockington So Price and Brockington will likely be asked to return, and I think they will. Stevenson and Borseti haven't sniffed the field, so they'll be gone.

Guest AtlantaIrish
what a disappointment Stevenson was. I remembered when the Irish got him I was excited because his dad played for the Miami Dolphins and he was from Florida and suppose to be a really good defensive player. I guess they were wrong on that one.
