well sports fans i hav a slight confession to make, i wasn't all that hyped up about clausen, i just thought that he was a a high school wizkid with a lot of hype and iam from Missouri, well Ive watched all his tapes of games played this year, i ve seen a few players during my time, this young kid is really good, he has to have a little line protection and ,good receivers, and a power runner that will hold the linebackers, his line has to be as good as this years line he is quicker than Brady and has an excellent release, arm strength will come also his footwork needs to be a little better, last but not least he needs to listen to charlie and be a true TEAM player, i think he lacks that right now, but his coming in January to study playbook and get accustom to campus life, he has the potential to become the greatest quarterback in irish history. he has to listen to charlie, be a team player, FIRSST AND FOREMOST. I see a bright future for this kid. just got to get him some power runners and improve the line play and defense and this 07 irish team is going to make a little noise , it won't be 10 -2 but maybe close to that if we can-get some speed

if u have any doubts about him being a team player try to find that recent article on him that interviews his dad you'll have no doubts. trust me. kid's got a good head on his shoulder and a good support group in his family.

tchris, after reading (i think the exact article youre referring to with quotes from his dad) he seems like a well grounded guy.

 

Also, i dont know if i mentioned this but the Michigan ND weekend this year, Barry's mom said on Friday night he went out to dinner with Clausen and Coach Weis, and i asked Barry about it the day after and he said he thought JC was all hype, but he seemed well grounded and was nice.

tchris555, hey fella you may be 100 % correct i just gave my opinion based on what i saw from the games he played, just remember he is coming to NOTRE DAME the pressure is tremendous, from what i observed i just mentioned that if he listens to charlie he will be ok. i still think he needs work on his feet, and arm strength, the interviews with his dad are not very important , he isn't playing and i didn't read the interview . the kid is good and could be great but ifeel that he lacks in those above areas, thats my opinion ok. believe what you may.. go irish.

Very true 'irishrick'...about his dad and the interview. Personally,I have seen him play, and you are pretty close in your observation of Jimmy, IMO. I feel that his only draw back has been the lack of talent in his schools division. But he has 'mad' upside and will benefit from Coach Weis's guidance. Will he be able to sub-plant Demetrius? Time will tell...but Clausen could be the real deal?

 

By the way, nice scout report on Jimmy...you did us justice.
