I don't know what to make of it. It's comming from Tom Lemming, take it for what it's worth.

Recruiting rumblings

Β

Three uncommitted players visited Notre Dame this weekend and CSTV recruiting analyst Tom Lemming termed the weekend a success.

Β

Defensive end Martez Wilson and running back Robert Hughes, both of Chicago, along with Hendersonville, Tenn., athlete Golden Tate, visited for the annual football banquet.

Β

"It was a great weekend," Lemming said. "All the players left possibly leaning to Notre Dame."

Β

Wilson is scheduled to announce his college choice on Dec. 22 and Hughes on Jan. 6 at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Tate has not set a date. All three are rated five-star recruits by Lemming.

Β

Also on the visit list was committed linebacker Aaron Nagel of LeMont, Ill. Offensive lineman Taylor Dever of Nevada City, Calif., was scheduled to visit but did not.

I don't like Lemming...I just worry that him going public all the time about these kids might actually HURT ND's chances....do you really think Martez Wilson really wants Lemming declaring publicly that he may be leaning towards Notre Dame now?

I thought the same thing once he the whole DC WR silent commit was in the paper. I'm sure it does tick kids off when Lemming says things like that.

That was worded very badly, Lemming was not cited as the source of that silent verbal

The Myron Rolle thing is what really gets me. FSU fans claim that he tried to direct Rolle to SB but in essence, based entirely off Rolles own comments, he told him to keep ND on his list for max exposure. I'm indifferent to Lemming but recruits trying to become hard men with this stuff really pisses me off. The Jamie Cumbie situation is another which gathered legs when there was nothing at all in it

Regardless if he said it or not, if someone told him about it, he should've kept quiet about it.

Β

They are called silent commitments for a reason  .

True.

As far as commit news, it looks like there might be nothing more from the weekend. We got Allen on Friday, but Tate, Wilson, and Hughes all look like they will take a few more officials. I'd say the banquet went about as well as could be hope, because it sounds like all 3 of them had a great time (especially Wilson, ND was all but out of it for him before the weekend).

Β

I think the staff is taking more in-home visits this week, and Dever hopes to official next week.

That doesn't make a lick of sense

well we know he was a silent and lemming did run his mouth about it

He may have, but Soko is correct....it wasn't in that badly worded article.

even if badly worded where do you think the paper got the info that he was a silent?

Β

message boards? no

Β

lemming? yes

Β

it doesnt matter he didnt switch because info became public, he switched because of ee, and dont believe anyone who tells you he qualified for ND, he didnt qualify for ee

It was the Chicago Sun Times that ran the story about the DC recruit. They had Lemming ranking him as the #1 WR in the nation, but not as him saying he was a slient. It was the Chicago Sun Times that leaked it out and I forget who their report is, but she(I think) is usually on Weis weekly q&a by phone to ask questions.

From what I have read over on the Notre Dame rivals page it sounds like we have a great chance of landing Martez Wilson. Wilson seemed to enjoy his visit, his host was Demetrius Jones, but he also hung out with a lot of the other freshmen including Aldridge, Brown, etc.

He is announcing Dec. 22 and I think we will land him.

I had gotten the feeling that Tez already knew where he was going when he came to SB. Granted, he had a good time and found out it was better than he had thought, but I don't see a night on the town with DD as significant enough for him to drop his previous choice, whatever it is. When I finally tried brussel sprouts "many a year" ago, I thought they were better than I had been told, but I don't want to eat them that often. Begrudgingly, I think Tez won't be a domer, and I hope I am wrong.

brussel sprouts may not be what you want but they are good for you and help you grow big and strong. UI maybe chocolate cake and it maybe tasty but all it'll do in the long run is make you fat.

good one Russ
