First post here ..

It seems like Charlie is going with a thunder and lightning approach to the RB every year. Prince and Aldridge last year and now Hughes and Allen this year.

With Allen coming aboard, where does that mean Tate will be playing? Some have listed him as a WR or RB .. maybe that DC WR wasn't needed after all, huh?

I'm just wondering because we seem to be pretty solid in the secondary with Gray, McNeil, and Walls .. but hey, a fourth shutdown corner isn't too bad.

i think tate will get a look at alot of places, cb, wr, rb

I'm a little slow...no big surprise there...AA and Hughes both verballed today?? And Tate is a projection?

hughes hasn't verballed to anyone yet but most of us think he'll be irish. the same goes for tate.

Sorry for the confusion, ctsubalum.

I never thought of Tate as a CB, TD, but his athleticism certainly lends one to believe he can play over there. He's got the speed, but did he play that position in high school?

Hey, man this has been a busy day on the board. I never seen so many threads and replies in a short time frame. Before I finished reading another post pops up.

Getting AA is great.

I really like the post about another EE is now possible.

Let's hope that the other EE is on the defensive side.

At home in St. Louis with ice and snow coming.....

scouts inc. has him as a cb and i believe he played there some but i could be wrong

That's good to read. I just don't want him to have to learn to play the position, but again, with his speed and size, he could be a good DB. I want him at WR, though.

Welcome Bhatta, good to have you.

These are the ESPN guys right? They have Tate listed at number 18 overall, and as the number 2 rated CB, right behind good ole Gary Gray (15, 1).

You are correct.

Welcome Bhatta, good to have you.

Thanks! Good to finally register after months of lurking in the shadows.

Holy cow .. Tate is the #2 CB? Err .. we're pretty solid back there now aren't we?!

Tate could very well play some CB... He can play in a lot of places, RB, WR, CB... I think he'll be a slot receiver however.

I think Tate would make a great slot receiver. The guy has wheels, and runs well in space.

CW will find a place for him, and for once I think our DB is in good hands.

Thunder and Lightning...nice sound to it. Would sound even better if we would force the ball down our opponents throats with the thunder (Aldridge, Hughes, Schmidt)...then strike at these same opponents with lightning (Allen, Prince, Walker)?

Lets run at their defenses until they they are too tired to mount an effective pass rush...then hit Grimes, Gallup, Ragone, Rueland, West, Little, Kamara and Tate via either Jones or Clausen!

Yes...Thunder and Lightning!
