Guest TDJesus3
Rumor going around here in indy, from some Warren Central folks they say that Finch the warren central safety who had committed to michigan may switch to IU, word is he is going to do this because michigan picked up a verbal from another safety prospect the only other safety prospect i know michigan being after hard is Micheal Williams so if this is true about finch, then its probably true that williams verbaled to Michigan
GwoodND
That really sucks since he really liked ND.I just don't understand man why DEf players don't come to ND.It has to be our Def coaches IMO/
Guest AtlantaIrish
Oh well, another guy gone. We have to start winning the big games and I have a feeling Clausen will be the guy to do it.

Scotty88
Me too Russ. Potential bad news w/ Williams. Smith should be announcing before Xmas, that would take the sting away.
dangeruss
i really want ND to land major wright but i don't think that'll happen. i wish that ND could land that elite saftey like a myron rolle or a taylor mays, i just dont see harrison smith being that type of playmaker. Guest NDLawJAG
I don't think we wanted or needed Williams as a safety. If Williams thinks tha UM will let him play safety (which I doubt) and he is dead set on safety then that is the obvious choice. I think he has much better upside at CB and I think he would be a good second CB in this class. I would love to see him as part of the class. Good luck to the kid either way. Grason
I think that IU is making a lot of steps in the right direction with their football program. I just hope that they don't get good enough to start pulling some kids from the area, which I don't think that they will any time soon, but who knows down the road. Hopefully by the time that IU gets good, we'll be fully back to our elite status.

Guest TDJesus3
Grason there rarely are any kids good enough in the area to pull plus there facilities blow, they will be in great shape if they reach purdues level but they will never really compete with us on that level in recruiting
NDFan3
im looking forward to seeing what happens after Marcus Gilchrist visits ND. You and me both. I really hope that Bowden leaves and that things go well on his visit. He can make an immediate impact in the return game, and he is a great CB prospect as well. Guest Svoboda
This story actually came from me as I was the one that spoke with the parents of a Warren Central player when I was checking them out this past weekend. I was going to see some of their undergrad talent for 2008 and 2009 when I came across the Finch nugget. It's actually hit the local sportstalk radio now. Take that FWIW. I haven't felt good for Williams since his Michigan trip and this makes me feel worse. That said, Williams isn't a must have like some others we're recruiting. BTW, we could never get into the game with Finch. Sub 2.5 GPA and very low test score from what I was able to gather. Too bad too... he's the best player on that Warren Central team and they're loaded.
Guest TDJesus3
yea svo i heard it on the radio here in indy, its good that you got connections with WC it would be huge for IU, finch would really help there D

Guest JerseyDomer
Scout.com's No. 14 ranked cornerback and four-star prospect Michael Williams (5-10, 187, 4.5), from Ventura St. Bonaventure (Calif.), still slightly favors Michigan and Notre Dame over Arizona and California. All have offered and a possible trip to Arizona looms. "I had my official visit to Notre Dame when they played Stanford (October 7)," said Ventura, Calif., defensive back Michael Williams. "It was an easy game for Notre Dame (31-10). My overall experience during my visit was great. I loved Notre Dame. They have an incredible school. Coach Bill Lewis (defensive backs) and Coach Brian Polian (special teams) both say that I have an opportunity to play early. I know I'll have to work my butt off to prove myself since their team is pretty stacked. Nothing is guaranteed. I'll be playing at a completely different level. "The Irish are recruiting me as safety and cornerback. Senior Tom Zbikowski (safety) is leaving and I could be recruited to play his position. Notre Dame has a great team. But, there are a few little things missing. For example, their defense has dual coverage and that sometimes causes a communication breakdown. "My mom favors Notre Dame. She's from Kenya and doesn't really know a whole lot about American football. In 1988 she watched a game at Notre Dame and fell in love with the school. It's the only school she has ever seen. My dad likes Michigan and Notre Dame. They're both impressive schools. He says I can't go wrong with either school. Obviously, distance isn't a factor. I can always visit on Thanksgiving. "I went to my official visit when Michigan played Ball State (November 4). Of course Michigan won (34-26). Michigan was on top the whole time," he said. "Ball State did surprise me the fourth quarter with a little spurt. Coach Ron English (defensive coordinator) says that they'll play me where they think is best. I can't imagine them playing me as a safety. Their safeties are huge. I'm not big enough nor have the body type. I hate the whole size thing. I might have to gain 20 or 30 pounds. "I might visit Arizona next week. Coach Charlie Williams (wide receivers) says the same as the other coaches. They'll play me where I fit best. All the coaches pretty much say the same thing. I'm sure they care about the recruits, but there is a lot of business involved in football. It's the coaches' job to sell us their school. They're not our friends. They're not just talking to us--just to talk to us. They need to get us to play for their team, and I don't know who I am playing for yet. "I'm not sure if I'll take a visit to California," Williams said. "I haven't had a lot of contact with them. They're a favorite of mine because they're a great school and they're in California. "I don't really care about my stats. I haven't looked at them the whole year. My concern is for the overall team. All I care about is winning games and helping the team. Individual performance is not my focus." Final senior stats: 1 interception/4 sacks/5 tackles for loss. Williams reports a 3.5 core GPA and a 1650 SAT score (new version).
