Per Scout, after his visit he said he was leaning heavily towards USC and feels very comfortable there. He said he will cancel his UCLA visit and probably announce this week rather than wait for the Army game.

 

It was always a longshot, but this sucks.

just another case of the rich getting richer. it'll always be tough to pull those west coast kids to ND.

Just read on rivals that EG's mom went with him it says it was her first visit to SC and is a big part of his decision making...

2. I think it said on B&G Charlie was visiting EG on his way back after the Cali visits... Anybody know that for sure and if so can Weis pull his magic... IF he doesn't announce this week like he said he would then I would reconsider the SC leading but for now good luck against Sam Young next year..,

everson griffen is close to a done deal for USC as you could get. CW can pull out all the magic he wants, griffen will still go to USC.

I think griffen and austin are headed to Socal. fellas like i said on another post we need to be more aggressive in on defense. Offense is fine but on defense we need to let the best play. And if the best to play is a first or second year player, oh well. Put them in the line of fire they have to learn some way or another and the coaching staff has to see if they can handle it. It doesn't matter how long these players were at ND if they can't play sit them down. I'm tired of the secondary making the same mistakes and then saying the same thing after words "it's not the speed it's execution" or "we were out of position" or "we just have to get back to basics". That all equals to you are not cut out to be the starter to me. Maybe I’m ranting but man come on. I mean don’t these guys watch film. I mean other teams key off on our tendencies. But we can’t key off on them. I mean anyone watching that game saw that if you put pressure on booty he gets rattled easy.

I figured this was going to happen with Everson, but damn, we needed to win on Saturday to help get these kids.

Sc is on the verge of building an entire starting 22 out of 5 star recruits. Now I know that a lot of 3 star recruits end up making more of an impact than the 5 star guys, but that is still a lot of talent no matter how you're judging it.

you got that right. USC is hard to beat in recruiting. they always play for NC, going to school is easy, pete carroll is a players coach, the girls are pretty and it's nothing but fun in the sun. it's very easy to see why USC always has the #1 recruiting class.

Just remember, stars aren't everything. Obviously they got things screwed down pretty tight down there, but that's what Miami and FSU looked like not too long ago. Remember Nebraska in the early 2000s? All it takes are some staff moves, a shake up in coaching, a scandal, and then it's a downward spiral.
