November 27, 200618 yr hey dangeruss , you might be right. whats your take on the first 7 games that the irish play nevt year, i see a very difficult task in these games , What say you?
November 27, 200618 yr Author whats your take on the first 7 games that the irish play nevt year, i see a very difficult task in these games , What say you? 09/01/2007 GEORGIA TECH-W 09/08/2007 Penn State-T 09/15/2007 Michigan-L 09/22/2007 MICHIGAN STATE-W 09/29/2007 Purdue-W 10/06/2007 UCLA-L 10/13/2007 BOSTON COLLEGE-T 10/20/2007 USC-L 11/03/2007 NAVY-W 11/10/2007 AIR FORCE-W 11/17/2007 DUKE-W 11/24/2007 Stanford-W i see ND losing three games for sure (UM, UCLA and USC) and the PSU and BC games could go either way.
November 27, 200618 yr ive seen others mention the Rose Bowl against Michigan. Rose Bowl gets the first selection to pick from teams. if its OSU/USC in the championship then i could see the Rose Bowl selecting ND. id personally like to see ND play either the winner or the ACC championship between Georgia Tech/Wake Forest or Arkansas if they win the SEC championship. i was also thinking of something. there could be a rematch between ND and USC. if USC was to lose to UCLA then Michigan would go to the championship game against OSU and then USC would go to the Rose Bowl. at that point again the Rose Bowl gets the first selection and could pick ND to face USC again. even after what happened this weekend i wouldnt mind getting another shot at USC.
November 27, 200618 yr Author michigan would kill ND in a rematch and so would USC. the only teams ND could beat in a BCS game would be the Big East Champ (UWV or Rutgers) or the ACC Champ (Wake Forest or GT). ND could not hang with Michigan, USC or LSU, UF or Arkansas.
November 27, 200618 yr im going to have to go ahead and disagree on Arkansas. if ND could stop McFadden then its game over. they dont have much of a passing game.
November 27, 200618 yr russ, got to disagree with you on Rutgers if they are the irish opponent, Rutgers would be so pumped up playing the irish THIS YEAR, THAT I WOULD LOOK FOR AN UPSET. they could do it as i think the irish are DOWN after that beating SC gave us. any way would be a good game go irish
November 27, 200618 yr im going to have to go ahead and disagree on Arkansas. if ND could stop McFadden then its game over. they dont have much of a passing game. Correction: They have NO passing game And Florida sucks, please stop with the they will kill ND talk. LSU's defense is solid, but their quarterback is inconsistent and not that good, plus their run game struggles as well. The SEC has a lot of good teams, some bordering on great, but no elite ones. They don't scare me this year.

They don't scare me this year. if LSU's defense can't stop mcfadden then now way ND could LSU's defense would smother NDs offense. UF's offense is struggling but i feel that their defense could shut ND down and score enough points to win.
November 27, 200618 yr Dangeruss I see the cup is half empty over there for you but any team can be beat on any day by anyone. Note the WV vs South Florida game. You have to show up and play the game. Notre Dame could beat every team going to a bowl if they show up to play. They could also lose to all the teams if they don't. Any team can be beat.
November 27, 200618 yr I want a rematch with Michigan in the Rose Bowl. We played like crap the first game but I could see us being so pumped up for this game because a)it's Michigan b)revenge game c)we haven't played in the Rose Bowl since 1925. I want another shot and I'm not scared.
November 27, 200618 yr Author I could see us being so pumped up for this game because a)it's Michigan b)revenge game c)we haven't played in the Rose Bowl since 1925. ND didn't fair so well in their most recent rivalry game against USC. if we played UM in the rose bowl i still think we'll get smoked.
November 27, 200618 yr just say we dont get into a BCS game, id like to play BC in the Gator Bowl....is that possible?
November 27, 200618 yr A gambling man would put $ on the Rose against Michigan, ND is too big of a draw to pass. Sugar would be the second likeliest option, after that I would say the Orange, then Fiesta. ND will be in BCS bowl, no doubt. However, say we were 9-3 or out of BCS contention, then it would be Cotton, probably against Texas or Big 12. Would love to get another shot at Michigan, I think the disappointment of no NC would give ND upperhand. Michigan doesn't want us, funny how Carr will use same argument for rematch against OSU oppositely to argue against playing ND again.
November 27, 200618 yr Author Would love to get another shot at Michigan, I think the disappointment of no NC would give ND upperhand. i want no part of a michigan rematch, their defense would dance all over us. they have one of the best run defenses and their front four would easily take away our running game leaving the back seven to defend the pass.
November 27, 200618 yr Russ, remember what Ball State was able to do against them in AA? They are tough, but there are holes. I would like nothing more than to hear them bitch about having to play ND again..it would distract them, they would ease up when Charlie's adding new wrinkles. Take away Manningham being open the whole game, the initial INT for TD, then it's a much different game. Needless to say, no matter who we play, any BCS team, we need to tighten the secondary or the results will look similar to the two losses. After seeing SC this weekend, they are definetly the #2 team, not Michigan. The OSU-Michigan game wasn't as close as the score would indicate.
November 27, 200618 yr Maybe I watched a different UM game than most of you. Here's what I thought I saw. I thought I saw Chad Henne throw 3 PERFECT passes to Mario Manningham for TD's. I aslo aw 2 out of 3 INT's thrown by Brady go off the hands OR face of our receivers and into the defenders hands. I seem to recall 21 points that UM got off of turnovers. I believe we turned the football over 5 times. Another recollection was the fact that Brady ALSO threw for 3 TD's in that game. Now I did see Brady get pressure a lot, but that happened against USC and led to NO turnovers. I guess I'm not following why a UM rematch would be a blowout. Seems simple to me. Eliminate the 5 turnovers and the UM game was a 5 point affair.
November 27, 200618 yr hey gallup, forget Boston college, were not going against those big guys we got to play a southern team in the sugar bowl, , don't think that ND wants to play BC anyway ?? they want the sugar, where they will have a chance to beat Fla or ark. go irish.
November 27, 200618 yr rick...the only reason i want to play BC is so when we kill them i can finally get back all the BC fans at my school who say ND is over rated and BC is better
November 28, 200618 yr I have to agree with Atlanta.. I think when Michigan came to South Bend they have could beaten anybody in the country that day..and we, of course, could have been beaten by any team in the country... everybody has a bad day once in awhile..I can see Michigan overlooking us as a easy victory..then again... Bring em on... we are ND
im hoping that ND either plays the Big East or ACC champion. as of right now those would be the only teams ND could beat.
