The fact that it will be at least 2 years before ND will be back to at least this level of talent/experience. Next year is going to be rough. ND is going to be like UConn in BBall this year. Talented but very young, with low expectations. I really marvel at the fact that USC is able to replace high caliber players year after year and not skip a beat. They lost so much from last year and they are still set up for a title shot. How does a program replace Leinart with Booty and have Sanchez waiting in the wings? We need to ramp up the D recruiting soon. I know we got a few good recruits but if there was ever a game that exposed the flaws of this team it was this one. Scheme, talent and depth are lacking on the D. I trust Charlie and am willing to give him a few years to really assemble his guys, but its going to be tough.

relax the holes are not from this staff's recruiting, they were left by TY, and everything will be just fine after next year, no more holes, no more problems, we will be deep, as deep as anyone in the country, and this staff (minus minter hopefully) will have all the talent it needs to be one of the biggest programs year after year

That's sadly funny Forever. It's kind of true about these people for other teams. I study each team a week before we play them. While prior to Thanksgiving I was over at one sisters house and my brother in law had on a Michigan sweatshirt, another sister from Akron had on an ohio State sweatshirt and me in my ND gear. Her couldn't begin to know anyone on the Michigan team nor she on the Ohio States. I was pulling facts and names for both teams and we played Michigan back in September and nnever played OS this year. I did say It seems to me if your for a team at least know something about them.

I think that Latina should be on the hot seat as well. We should have been a great line this year and we were terrible. Lets not try to make excuses for it.

 

I like Lewis to stay in the secondary because the players like him and he is good, but Minter absolutely needs to be fired....HE IS AWFUL.

 

And on another note, it was really sad to see Quinn walk off the field...He is a warrior and almost did all this himself, this whole year. He is one of the best to ever come to this school, and it was sad to see it end this way against USC.

 

Hopefully, we can salvage this season with a bowl win.

latina has been good with development of the young guys from all accounts and last years line that had depth was dominant under him

thats jsut a bad kicker, the punt team is normally pretty good, we just have to get a place kicker prepared, and i think burkhart will be fine for next year

Without a speed back Weis's play calling is limited. We also need WR's who hit the weight room and can push around the CB's instead of the other way around.

 

Are we headed to the Sugar Bowl? Unless we play Boise State, the losing streak will continue. Booty tried to give us the game and we said "No thank you". The on side kick was an incredible show of incompetence.

ND1baby?? I didn't see that episode. I have to disagree. I crossed off Jones for a lip and JC. A player should shut up period. The coaches rule. I detest any attitude by any player. I don't care WHO it is untouchable Quinn or the Second coming. When things are going bad and your a supposed leader and captain of the team that's the worst time to show dissension the sidelines and in view of millions. Just that makes me realise why our O strength never materialised this season. God forbid any of the QB's coming up feel they know it all and hang up on a coach.

 

I have seen this grow in Quinn the closer he got to this NFL and his last game.

 

You don't call your head coach a jerk. I did see Quinn and mentioned it here in another game 'whine' if you will, when ordered to the phone complain 'lip read it' going over to the phone saying "This is what the rest of my life is going to be like." Brohm's brother the QB Coach was heatedly chewing out his brother at Louisville and it became front page news.

I heard the most likely scenario is Sugar, against the Arkansas/Florida winner.

rose should have the first two picks with both of there teams going to the NC game

 

that means they will probably pick us and michigan, unless the sugar makes some kind of deal with the rose because the next best pick would be LSU and sugar probably doesnt want arkansas vs. lsu, however, two big east teams may make it too so sugar would probably select the big east second team

im fucking sick of special teams!!! there, im sorry, but i had to say it. we gave another schollie to a kid who is not kicking our field goals, we cant get the ball to the goal line and by the way, what the hell was that pathetic excuse for an onsides kick. how many years have we endured this nonsense. i said this before in a thread long ago, if you cant get a good kicker, you are screwed. its why they call it FOOTBALL!!!!!!!! we gave usc the ball continuously on the 40+ yard line. this is absolutely unacceptable. i apologize for my language, but i am so frustrated right now i could spit...........

our punt coverage is normally pretty good, on that one punt return price just simply out kicked his coverage. as for our kickoff coverage they just pretty well suck.

Plain and simple we are what we are. And that is a good team that is not yet on the level of teams like Michigan, USC, tOSU. CW is playing with the hand that he was dealt with. He makes no excuses doesn’t cry moan or bitch. So we shouldn’t either. I mean we all know that the talent isn’t up to par. So don’t you think the coaching staff knows that. ND football is like no other. It’s hard right now. But how quickly we forget 2 yrs ago (6-6). Now we are 10-2 and people are saying that the sky is falling. Relax and chill. But one thing is for sure the defensive side of the ball has to be addressed immediately like yesterday. We need a person of JC stature to come on that side of the ball. As you can see playing time doesn’t mean a recruit will commit. It’s how you play on that side of the ball. Make a recruit envision himself making those plays. I don’t care if you play in sunny Florida or California. If you can’t sell your program then you are in trouble. But everything is going to be all right. CW in the right man for the job count on it.

ND won't reach elite status untill the 2009 season. thats if they continue to recruite like they are.
