Guest JerseyDomer
per B&G artivcle on him saying he'll committ sometime in mid December had this to say bout us: Will so much praise for the opposition, is Notre Dame still in the picture? “Oh, absolutely. I just got off the phone with Coach Minter and we are trying to work out a time for an in-home visit,” said Martin. “Notre Dame is still very much in the picture and I thoroughly enjoyed being on campus on my visit. The academics and the football tradition speak for themselves.” he said he encourages all recruits take all of their visits--- he said he learned a ton by doing so
dangeruss
great info jersey. ND has a great shot with martin and i hope they land him but i'll wait untill i see it before i say he's ND bound. the way OSU is playing, they way they play defense and the way they always grab the instate talent makes me think he's OSU bound. But, how deep is OSU Def Line compared to ND?They did pick Lawrence Wilson last year.If Martin is as good everyone says he is he has to look at how long will it take him to get on the field. dangeruss
if martin came to ND i think he and trattou would see the field early.
Guest TDJesus3
all i can say is he has always been high on ND the staff has always felt good about Martin, and he has had some rough patches with the OSU coaches i think both teams are in it, but my guess right now would be Martin picks ND, just a guess

I think he'll come to South Bend, it seems to fit him more than OSU IMO.
Guest NDEagles379
I hope your guess is right too, obviously. This is a tough call, its very 50-50. We could use a recruiting victory like this after losing quite a few this year. Not that I'm complaining- we're going after so many top guys we're bound to lose some. i think he picks the Irish. He seems like a high character guy, and Cincinnati isn't as much of an OSU hotbed. Hopefully he will see Victor Abiamiri as a 1st or 2nd round pick and see that he can become a star and future NFL defensive end here. ndblue
Just a reminder, if one or both of his parents are in Gary, it is a lot easier for them to attend games at ND then OSU. This could be a big factor if ND and OSU are equal.
NDFan3
if martin came to ND i think he and trattou would see the field early. Agreed. These two along with Neal would be in the rotation right away. Do you guys think will only play DE or will he start out at a LB/DE b/c of his size? Tressel is great at grabbing in-state talent, but he holds a much firmer grip on Cleveland/Akron than he does Cincy.
NDFan3
Just because you are from Ohio doesn't make you a Buckeye by default. Minter has influence in Cincy right? Relatives near SB. Been hearing a lot of positive things. We are thin on the DL. The kid could definitely be Irish. These kids just need to realize that they will be paid a lot more when they get a high draft pick in the NFL once Weis is done with them, than if they went to the instate powerhouses and got paid. patches12345
I would love to land him..he will def. be special but I HATE when people come out with announcement dates following a visit a la Armando Allen. My guess says he is OSU bound.
NDFan3
His announcement of a decision date isn't necessarily bad for us. He could've just as easily decided that OSU is not the place for him on that trip as he could've decided that it is.
Guest kramer116
I think that this kid is really smart and knows what is going on. And when he encourages other recruits to take all their visits because he learned a lot by doing so, that makes me feel good. Also, cincy has been feeding ND for decades. We always have pull in Cincy. My mom is from there and some of thee biggest ND fans I know are Ohio Cincy people. I say that he picks ND. Him and Donald and Blackwell are the keys to this class IMO. rdrdreamer
Most of these young men pretty much have an idea where they will commit to by now. Alot of when and where they decide to announce is probably going to be based on the forum presented to them? Ben Martin as well as others just may be inspired by the surroundings of a visit. I mean visiting a school during rival week is close to overwhelming. The only Notre Dame games I have ever had the opportunity to attend where the ones here in southern california. While I have a great distaste for the Trojans...the atmosphere surrounding Notre Dame's visit is unlike any other, it is HUGE! They prepare for us like no other...UCLA included. To be a recruit in this environment is probably awesome? With this said, I hope that it is the many other things we can offer Ben and the rest...that will help them in their decesion to select the Irish.
