fnk,

its not about nd negative recruiting. all it really says is how other teams are negative toward nd.

the story is about when ryan harris went to visit miami, "the coaches were saying look out the window the weather is so nice here" south beach, south bend, also how hard the classes are at ND, diversity ETC.

I would rather USC lose to Cal and drop our strength of schedule than watch those dicks ever win. My hate will be my demise, but there is no team I hate more. Oregon State beating them made my weekend that weekend. So, we don't get into the NC... That's our fault for getting crushed by Michigan...I just want to see Pete Carroll fall into mediocrity as Chow's residual effect slowly dies off.

i would love to see USC lose to Cal, ND and then UCLA (after watching UCLA play ND i think it could happen).

Guys come on now, we have a chance for a National Championship. Everyone keeps talking about what a long shot is would be to get to the game, but the following five things need to happen in addition to USC beating Cal

Β

LSU beat Arkansas

Arkansas beat Florida

West Virginia beat Rutgers

ND BEAT SC

Β

Listen, I know it pains you to root for SC, but we only need them for one more week.

LSU beat Arkansas

Arkansas beat Florida

West Virginia beat Rutgers

ND BEAT SC

i think your predictions will probbly hold true, still not sure about ND-USC. no way arkansas runs the ball against LSU, UF could fall to arkansas (they play good defense) and it'll be hard for rutgers to stop white and slaton.

I have confidence in all of these except for LSU beating Arkansas.. thats going to be a tough one for lsu to pull out imo...

LSU has the the #1 total defense in the country and to do that while playing in the SEC says a lot. arkansas is only one dimensional (they can only run) and playing the #1 defense in the country LSU should be able to shut them down.

I agree, I like the matchup of LSU v Arkansas. It's just a matter of Russell showing up and playing a good game for the Tigers.

Any way you look at it, we have gone from no chance to a reasonable chance to put ourselves in the BCS Championship game IF......we beat the Trojans.

Everyone has been giving the excuse for Arkansas in the past week that "They are a very different team than the one that lost to USC". I think ND is a very different team than the one that got crushed by Michigan. Our offense was really struggling then, particularly Brady, and our defense line was not playing close to how well it's playing right now.

Β

I think ND will beat SC. It's going to be a hell of a game, but if Brady plays as good as he is capable of playing....I'd rather be us than them.

I think that is a very fair statement. You have to remember that McFadden was out with a dislocated toe, which makes a big difference. He's the heart and soul of that team, and for him to not play in the opener, against USC at that, was a big loss for them, even mentally. They're a good team, but I dont think they'll beat LSU, that defense is fast, strong, they tackle well, and they dont give up points.

Β

This game will be the another piece to the puzzle, next will be Arkansas beating UF, and ND beating USC. Beacause evryone on that USC team knows that they have that ass whooping coming to them after last years, last second debacle.

Dread I agree with you, I think they have an argument. But lets be serious, even if they would have been perfectly healthy, that wouldn't make up the margin they lost by. They got CRUSHED!!!! Their RB is good but he isn't THAT good!!!

Β

Bottom line they weren't as good then as they are now. I think we can say the same about the Irish. That's all I'm saying. Brady played like crap in that Michigan game, and I just think that the same people who are making excuses for Arkansas now are not giving ND the same benefit of the doubt.

Β

Who cares though, if we don't beat SC then we can't talk.

I agree with all of what you all say and I think that if SC beats Cal we have a better shot of beating SC but I'll still be pulling for SC to lose to Cal. At least then I will not have to fear that the game could propel SC to the championship game.

I dont think it really matters if they lose to Cal or not, because UF will lose to either FSU or ARK. And once ND beats USC they'll be the clear cut choice to move into the #2 spot, no matter who wins the game this weekend.

one thing that everyone needs to keep in mind is. even if ND finishes 11-1 and michigan looses a close game to OSU i doubt that the voters will move michigan below ND since UM is the team that thumped ND pretty good at home.

If Arkansas wins out they go past us. Voters LOVE the SEC.

In addition to all of the above happening I think it would help if Michigan wins this weekend. I think the voters would have a hard time ranking the skunk bears below the Irish if they lost based off of the debacle that happened in September. 47-21....
