We all have an ideal team right? Last year's major complaint thread was about Riley Leonard. So I assume the leading complaints would be

  1. QB

  2. Defensive Line

  3. Wide receiver

  4. Musical chairs at Offensive Line

  5. Changing Landscape of NIL/Roster Limits/ Revenue Sharing

My challenge to all of us is right a thread about your chief complaint and then see if other members build on it!

Man, I love this idea! Good stuff! Do you want a post in this thread or a thread per complaint? :)

GO IRISH!

thread would be awesome

Chief complaint: talent disparity between ND and big guys. When (and how the heck) are we going to load up with enough depth to win the big game? Is it going to happen or will we need the "luck o' the Irish"?

“Win the big game”. ??? Bwahahaha!

I’ll take the playoff run full of big games… 3 out of 4.

And in spite of numerous injuries throughout the season, we had deep, quality depth to get through those games and even made the NC game competitive. We haven't seen a run like that in a long time.

I don’t want to hear that can’t win the big game thing. every single game was a big game after NIU to be honest. Sure would be nice to see a NC victory, but I never want to hear CMF can’t win the big game, unless he makes it back and loses again

Can't win the big game was absolutely the complaint of the Kelly Era.

Thanks for bringing that up @EddieAngel!

Can ND keep winning big games while trying to develop a starting QB instead of "renting" a transfer?

If I told you we were going to beat PSU AND Georgia in the playoffs away from home last August would you have believed it? we won big games...we are a big guy...

PSU probably. UGA no. I think it really shows that when teams are forced to play by the same roster rules, anyone can beat anybody. NIU beat Notre Dame, THE SAME SEASON ND beat UGA AND PSU in the PLAYOFFS.

Parity is a reality in the NFL. Reverse draft order and free agency/salary cap virtually guarantee that the worst NFL team can beat the best NFL team in a 1 game matchup. The portal makes a good NIU day closer to a bad ND day just like the draft and free agency/salary cap foster parity in the NFL. Similarly, a fair roster(same NIL/Revenue Sharing) will keep ND closer to UGA and the rest of the elites.
