I would love to get the inside info on why Freeman didn't promote Mickens to DC. I could speculate like anyone else.

I would not have hired Ash unless I was sure Mickens would stay. Ash isn't the type of DC that would cause me to risk losing my best positional coach.

There are several high level head coaches that call plays and I don't know why Freeman wouldn't be willing to be more hands on if needed to assist Mickens if he needed it as their DC.

This is exactly how I felt it should have be handled too! However, we know Freeman knows what’s best so I have faith he’s making the right decision. 🤞🏼

Sounds like Texas is hiring Mark Orphey from Rutgers for this…gotta admit I was a little nervous on this one

Great news. I'm still really interested in finding out why Mickens was not hired as DC if someone has insight beyond speculation.
