  • Army IS 9-0. You cannot dismiss that. But… here’s who they’ve played: Lehigh, Florida Atlantic, Rice, Temple, Tulsa (that leaves a bad taste), UAB, E. Carolina, Air Force, and North Texas. I don’t

Awesome win by the the Irish. Besides the kicking game which needs to get straightened out, my only complaint was why Denbrock called the same play twice in a row on successive drives inside the 5. He must have seen something he thought we could exploit. When guys bounced or he called plays to the outside, they couldn't handle our speed.

Agree completely! Kicking is so, so bad, and those play calls on the goal line to run Leonard were head scratchers! 🙄

One massive advantage we had, which I never thought of until last night, is when we play the service academies, there is no way they are going man against us. It looked like they were in zone the whole night. That helps tremendously in game prep, and if the QBs have time as we did last night, they don't have to read coverages, just throw to the open spot. Both Leonard and Angeli threw very well.

And remember, that is with numerous garbage time touchdowns against ND’s 2nd and 3rd string defense (literal walk-ons are playing for an entire qtr.)

Exactly! What else is crazy about the defense is all of the injuries to big time players, i.e., Botelho, Traore, Morrison, and now Cross. The depth is off the charts with this team!

Awesome awesome work, Irish. I enjoyed every minute of the actual game.

Did anyone else attend? I’m calling the Athletic Office tomorrow (FWIW, which is probably zero), because I hope they never use Yankee Stadium again. Getting in was an absolute nightmare: only a couple gates open, no clear directions, blind leading/pushing/shoving the blind, minimal stadium staff and those on site had no answers to easy questions. It took me and my family over an hour simply to enter once we arrived at 6:15, and others have claimed even longer times thanks to getting in what they thought was a line but was a dead end — to say nothing of safety issues for senior and expectant guests and those with little kids. I’m hearing that Yankee Stadium let a ton of employees go when the WS was over … so they didn’t see this game on the November schedule? I’m sure the Yanks org made a shit-ton of money, though, so that’s all that matters. 🙄

Many others mentioned the same issue at the stadium. I noticed the seats were like half empty at kickoff, it seems half of the people were still outside trying to get into the stadium.

I was at the game last night and agree that getting in was an absolute nightmare. However, we had a GREAT time in NYC and will go to every game ND plays in the Bronx!
