Really disappointing season thus far. I'm sure the coaches and players feel the same way. I thought going into the season they would be better, but they continue to look like they did in the last few Brey years. Even more unfortunate is that the ACC is down overall, so now would be the time to take advantage.

The wife and I watched the VT game, and that was a colossal meltdown there in the last 9 minutes of regulation.

This team really is extremely disappointing, and the coaching isn’t much better than what Brey was doing in his last few seasons.

Man, the NDMBB team is so, so bad! Love how Shrewsberry had that tantrum after the Louisville loss, and then has another horrible showing against SMU. How about we see the fire on the court and not in a post game presser? πŸ˜‘

I have no idea what Shrewsberry's contract is, but it seems likely this will be his last year in South Bend. No one is going to the games and the team is underperforming on an almost nightly basis. I don't know if I feel worse for the coach or the son.

Contract is for 7 years.

Agree completely! Let’s hope he gets it figured out for his and the teams benefit! 🀞🏼

I was excited when they hired him because I was impressed with his gritty team at Penn State and thought that was what we needed here after those last few lean Brey years.

Looking closer at his record, he does seem to have incremental improvement year over year, but outside of his last year at PSU, it's slow progress. He went from 3-28 to 15-20 at II South Bend, then had that run at Penn State after a middling first year there. Despite a long career. He just had those 2 years at PSU and a few at IUSB as a head coach prior to ND. Was that last year at PSU just a case of his team getting hot in the B1G and NCAA tourney?

This off-season will be pivotal for him. He likely loses his best 2 players (Burton and Davis) to the NBA. The transfer portal guys He brought in have been underwhelming - mostly just practice guys. 1 looks over matched in the ACC and the other is someone to get an occasional rebound and use up 5 fouls. A third never plays. From his recruits, it looks like Sir Mohammed is starting to improve and Garrett Sundra has been improving, but that seems to be it.

I think he has to hit a home run in the portal with true impact players, or else next season could be worse than this one. There's a good list of coaches who have turned around programs in 1 year, and he will be entering year 3.

The IU job is open and he's a proud Infiana guy, but does he get a look there after these 2 seasons here?

It should be interesting to see what happens next season. If he can’t get it going then, he’s gone!
