I can’t help but wonder where this team would be without the NIU loss. It sucks that it happened, but it really might have been a huge benefit for them, specifically to take ALL teams seriously.

Basically, to help keep them grounded and focused on the task at hand for every game!

Really just need them to be in the top 8 of the playoff rankings.  Imagine a playoff game in South Bend on the 20th or 21st of December!

If they win out, that should happen.  And if it happens, I'll be happy to watch it from home.  While it would be interesting to be at that game, I've already experienced snowy, windy, freezing games in South Bend.  I'll be happy to watch others experience that! 

If they have a home game on December 21, I will be in South Bend visiting family for Christmas and plan to be in attendance with my two kids.  That would be sweet.

I would have preferred they got their scary wakeup call after a nail biting win over NIU instead of the loss that occurred.  As long as they learned from it and never let it happen again the remainder of the season.

Trust me, I feel you. It sucked losing to NIU, and while I wish they didn’t, it really is the best way to learn.

I saw Freeman shows them this loss all the time as a reminder now! 😂

Florida State is 1-8.

Losses:  Georgia Tech, BC, Memphis, SMU, Clemson, Duke, Miami, North Carolina

Win: Cal

On the surface, it looks like ND should win this game.  By quite a bit.  But we all saw that NIU disaster.  That just killed any confidence I had hoped to have in this team and this staff.

I am optimistic, and I am nervous.  

Florida State has the "talent" to play with ND, but they have been terrible all year for a reason. They cannot protect the QB, the QB (whoever it is) has made terrible decisions, and their defense has not played up to what shows on paper (veteran squad full of highly rated players).

ND cannot overlook them, but ND should pummel them and win by at least 14 points. Honestly, I think they should blow them out and have the 2nd stringers in for at least half of the 4th quarter.

FSU is a team that has not performed well at all.  The most they scored in any game was 21 points in the season opener against Georgia Tech.  I would hope that our team can score over 21 points against FSU and hold from to their rough average of about 14 points.  

Onye probably wont return this season. No idea if he plans/is able to return next year.
