Sorry Guys ND doesn't have the live press conference link up yet.

Things i'm concerned about.

Why is Navy so good?

Will our normal 4-4-3 Navy defense(very different from our 4-2-5 base)  be employed? This is the game where you usually see an extra linebacker in the slot for the pitch man. That would typically be ausberry because he has lb/safety experience. If Navy can throw do you just walk Schuler up closer to the line instead?

What's on your mind?

I'm hoping 35-21 Irish. What say you?

Offense: Needs to score on every play, since we know with Navy the possessions are limited.

Defense: Option offense is assignment football, so if the defense stays with their assignments and can mirror the Navy offense, then they should be just fine!

I think the reason Navy has been good is due to them having a QB that can pass it well.

This one may be dicey early but that seems to be the norm.  Once the defense locks in this game will not be close.  37-14 Irish

I'm just always concerned about the injuries Navy causes.  We've established in the past that an aggressive defense is needed against option teams, so we know what to do.

I agree with TexasDomer about injury concerns especially with depleted troops on both sides of the ball.

On defense, I am worried about our young guys playing disciplined assignment football, which is key to containing Navy's offense.

Sorry to here that..  Prayers sent your way.

Injuries as others have suggested.

Is Buchner running the option for ND?

This may be a good game for Urlacher and Bowen. Two guys who like to hit and meet contact. I remember when Slaughter maned that rover/safety position and did well.

ND is plenty talented and should win easily. They just have to be prepared for 60 mins of football. Because Navy will play every down through the whistle.

I would Ausberry and Sneed on the outside and tell them attack the pitch man relentlessly. Ends hit the qb as hard as you can every play even if he pitches it.

Bowen, don’t let the fullback get by you.
Easier said than done I know.

We'll have to create some turnovers, on downs or otherwise.  Navy is efficient.  They haven't played anyone, and I expect we'll put some hurt on 'em as the game wears on, but you don't want to leave 'em in it.

If ever there was a game to get rid of these slow starts, this is the one.

Also, prior to the Stanford game navy had more passing yards on the season than ND. This team can and will throw the ball

Yeah, looks like a very different Navy offense than usual. And few turnovers.
