It's impossible not to notice the changes happening with the site right now, so my apologies if anyone's been inconvenienced by the changes happening. At the very least, it's only fair that I give everyone an update on what's coming.

The upgraded forums are still in Alpha and a work in progress, but the changes here are due to my efforts in mirroring what I can between both versions. This should make the transition as smooth as possible once ready. Please keep in mind that things you see are still subject to change but enjoy a sneak peek of where the site is headed.

A few updates:

• There are a few bugs with notifications loading. This is being worked on and will be fixed in a future update (@Baldy)

• The notification to load new replies isn’t showing. I reached out to the devs and I’ll follow up when I learn more (@SpeedsterX)

@Mike, I know there are some bugs with the new site, but one other thing I wanted to point out for you is standard Twitter (X) posts won’t automatically embed, but videos seem to be able to.

Good catch! I was wondering why some were embedding and some weren’t. I didn’t notice the difference that some were videos and some were not.

Thanks! And I just figured it out today when I had posted a video and it embedded, but then way I tried a regular post, it didn’t. That’s when it clicked. 😂

I looked for it, but didn’t see anything in the settings. It was probably removed from the new software.

Software Update expected next week

I just got word that the software update should be rolling out early next week. I’ll follow-up if the fixes we’re waiting on are resolved.

The update rolled out this morning, and there was a slew of fixes. I won’t share them all, but I’m hoping this is the fix we were waiting on regarding embeds 🤞

Another software update with more fixes rolled out this morning. The most notable - notifications for followed content should now be working 🙌

And just so all of you know, I no longer have access to Twitter (X). I decided to leave the platform for personal reasons.

With that being said, I’m only using Facebook and Instagram now. I don’t mean to add more to your plate Mike, but is there a way to be able to have those links embed and show the content like it does for a lot of links we use?

Regarding Facebook and Instagram, there are ways to enable embeds, but it’s an absolute nightmare to get Facebook services to work and keep updated. For those unaware, Instagram is owned by Facebook.

FYI. i left twitter awhile ago… links still work for me as they get embedded.
