jessemoore97
Title says it all, hoped he could step it up in spite of the odds, but he's not going to win it here. Poor coaching after big games, can't show up against inferior opponents at home for gosh sake. Terrible OC hires he's chosen or had thrust on him. Team unprepared and soft too many times. Lousy schedule with a very thin margin to make playoffs with a loss. Spinning our wheels.
WeaverIrish
Kelly had a pretty long leash on here for years. Give freeman time to get his guys.

This loss is an embarassment to a once proud program!

He has his guys. Picked Leonard as the QB, young OL starters, picked Denbrock as OC, etc etc. Kelly made the NC in year three. He also should have been shitcanned after 2016. Freeman will get 5 years, because the school wouldn't dare have the optics like firing TW again.

Lets see I think that QB we saw today is his guy. I've seen some pretty bad losses under Freeman. And this ND team was ranked 5? We need a Big Time Big Game coach, who that is I don't know, but there have to be better options than Freeman!

4thand1
If I'm Bevacqua, I tell Freeman he's on notice. There's no acceptable excuse to lose to NIU. None. I don't care which reason you choose. Can't happen. Marshall and Stanford were accepted and Freeman received a pass. No longer. A playoff spot might be in jeopardy now. I would allow him to finish the season and reevaluate after it's over. You either operate the way the top schools do or you will never achieve their success.
Baldy
If you’re the right guy, you don’t lose a game like this. It’s so, so unacceptable! Like, for real. How many of these losses does he need before he figures it out? This is already 2 in 3 years! WTF!?!?
nd1989
Hi everyone! Haven't been on here for awhile, but I had to drop in and start contributing. Two issues I see, and neither has improved in the last 3 years: - Freeman lacks the guts to make changes in game on offense. Its almost like he has no interest or capability to make a change at QB. I just don't get it. - Lack of game prep. Don't know why this is, but if its not a big game, the team is just not prepared. I expect two more losses, not because they should lose, but rather they will just lose to some rando teams this year. Frustrating but this is just what I've come to expect from Marcus and I've lost a lot of interest in ND until he improves, which he hasn't.
EddieAngel
Thank goodness none of us are in charge. I may not be the head of a billion dollar org like ND but in all my years of people leadership I have never made someone successful by blasting them. Coach people up or coach them out. ND committed to hiring a young and inexperienced guy in the best of the moment. They need to be accountable and work through it. Today stinks, I disagree that about Freeman not being the guy. 2

It did stick out to me that the defense seemed constantly confused and out of position.
FlexD
Let me drop a name of an intriguing guy. I'd make a push or at least talk to Matt Campbell at Iowa State at the end of the season!

Frankus
I’d like to say I’m surprised, but since 1995 this is normal. If Freeman starts Leonard next week and plays that soft, awful offense he’s going to lose me.
